Need some advise please

ok, here is the deal. I have recently started try running after about 6 months of strength traning(not hardly any running ever) and iv run in to a bit of an issue. when i run after about 1/2 mile my lower back starts to hurt really bad and that almost forces me to stop and walk. so, does the more i run the less it will hurt cause my body is getting used to running or should i start doing a lot of lower back excersises?

also i am in track(the field part) and for our warmup run we run a mile and that right now kills me. is just going out a running a mile every day the best thing to do to get where the mile run isnt a big deal?
