Hi all, I'm new to this forum and I recently (as of 3/15) have been dieting and exercising daily. I am 22 years old and 5'11, 205 with a large body frame and a lot of muscle mass. I am currently around 13% body fat. Towards the end of 2007 I weighed 235 lbs and lost 50 lbs within 3 months. I maintained 180-185 for a great deal of the year but as any 21 year old I started to drink heavily and since then I gained 30 lbs. I weighed 212 at the start of my dieting and now I have only lost 7 lbs within a month. I usually lose more weight after the first month, however, I lost 9 inches, mainly from my chest, and hips, and one inch off of my waist since starting.
I know I'm not that far off from where I want to be (20 more pounds to feel comfortable and 30 to be at my peak) but I seem to be having trouble losing weight on my waist. I currently avidly use the treadmill 6 days a week, walk 4+ miles with my neighbor 4 days a week, and also circuit train at my gym 3-4 days a week. I also eat the traditional diet way (3-5 times a day, I seem to not be able to eat 6 times a day but I feel satisfied with those amounts, mixing in healthy carbs such as whole wheat products and brown rice, lean proteins such as grilled turkey breast/chicken breast and 97% fat-free ground beef, I also mix in veggies and fruits) I know that everybody's body is different and I know that my area to lose last is my abdomen and arms. Is there any tips and tricks or advice anyone would like to give to me so that I can start trimming some weight off of my waist line quicker ?
Thank you all.
