Okay so I've been going the gym just about every day for the past 2 months, trying to lose my gut and get a 6 pack. When I started I weighed 173, since then I've gone down to 161 but I haven't really lost any weight at all in the last few weeks. So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. My diet consists of mostly ham/cheese sandwhiches, oatmeal, low fat cereal, and the occasionally snack of crackers. I only drink water, around 3-4 liters a day. I try to eat around 1500 calories a day. Is this too much? I am I not eating the right stuff to be on a diet?
As far as working out goes, my normal day at the gym starts with me jogging there, which is about a 10 min jog. Then I do the elliptical for about 30 mins, usually around 400 calories burned. Then I work on my abs for only 10 mins or so, and every other day I do some weight training. Another question I have is with weight training, my friends give me different advice. Is it better to do fewer reps with more weight? Or do as many reps as you physically can with less weight?
Ah I'm 21 years old and 5'7 if that helps at all, thanks
