Neither one.

BMWs are known for expensive maintenance costs. Mitsubishi is a second tier Japanese brand (though under control of DaimlerChrysler at the time) that is not as common as the more well known Japanese brands, so finding parts and service may be more difficult than for more common brands.

If you must choose between those two cars, choose whichever one is in better condition and has better maintenance history. Take them for inspection at a mechanic unaffiliated with the seller if you are not knowledgeable enough about cars to find defects. You may need to take them to different mechanics who know BMWs vs. Mitsubishis.

Why not get something like a Ford Focus, Mazda 3, or Honda Civic?

well i decided on neither one, im gonna go with a bmw but a 330Ci

the reason i dont want a civic, focus, or mazda 3, is because i dont like honda, ford is ****, and i dont really have a reason for the mazda 3. but i think its a 4banger and i want at least a 6 cyl with some nice power.

the diamante is actually an incredible car, my mom used to have one fun to drive, reliable, and unique. but im going with a bimmer because well i like the snob factor :p

Off-topic slightly...
I'm not sure why everyone rags on Fords. The Fords I've owned have far out lasted any other cars I've had...well, cept for that Buick. My Buick's hit over 300,000 miles on the original engine and is still going strong.

Same here. Half the time I think it's just people saying it ignorantly because that's an unfortunate stereotype Fords carry now. I had a 91 Lincoln Mark VII, never had an issues I couldn't handle, and an 89 Ford Ranger that ran forever. My mom had a 93 Aerostar when I was growing up, that thing would have ran forever, it was just the body that starting getting rust, and the sliding door and back door got fubared.

Good luck with the Bm'er. They are awesome cars to drive but maintenance is crazy expensive. I had a 2000 328i and the head cracked so I needed a new motor.

BMW priced it out at 12k for the fix.

 YIKES! That's an expensive fix.

I don't know anybody who has had trouble with their BMWs up here.

Maybe the Mitsubishi would be better :D

I don't know anything about those cars, though.
