Sport Need ideas on preparing meals for a week.

Sport Fitness
Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by.

I am entering a new personal project (see journal section: "Re-birth.") and have the need for some ideas.

Basically what I want to do is prepare an entire weeks worth of meals in the weekends.

The main consensus is: leans meats, fruits and veggies only.

Cooking lean meats and freezing them is easy and doable - I steam cook an entire weeks worth of lean meats and put them into vacuum sucked zip-locks and store them in the freezer - I take it out the day before and microwave it at work and eat it.

My problem is veggies. I like them cooked. How do I go about this - I know I could cook some veggies every two or three days but I'm a lazy bachelor and just won't do it. I've looked into blanching, can I do this and simply microwave them? Do you think I could just cook them and put them in the freezer once they've cooled down? Won't they by soggy after I microwave them?

Eating them raw is fine, but, really, cooked veggies>raw veggies.

Hope to hear from you guys!

edit: Maybe I can just cook them at work with the microwave?...hmmm....anyways, looking forward to hearing some better ideas!

Today's frozen veggies are often even more nutritious than the fresh produce. Quick freezing methods and fast shipping get the nutrients locked in and into the store as quickly as fresh produce, which is starting to lose nutrients once it is picked.

That said, I mix it up between fresh and frozen so I can keep a variety of veggies in my diet. Most of these I never pre-cook. Lots of veggies are great raw, and the microwave will lightly steam a lot of things too.

I pack my food up the night before and that's when I'll pour frozen veggies into a Gladware with some meat (and possibly a carb), and then it has some time to thaw before i nuke it at work.
