Need help with workout plan

Hi,

I was just wanting to get into shape, and get some definition, and the plan I have below was set up for me, but i am not sure if it's too much or not enough.

Take a look.

Workout Plan

Reverse Leg Extension
Behind Neck Press
Chest Press
Bicep Curl (standing)
Bicep Curl (sitting)
Lunges
Tricep Curl
Row
Assisted Chin Dips
Ab Crunch (straight)
Ab Crunch (obliques)

30-40 mins cardio (HIIT)

10-15 mins stretching

If anyone has any ideas or tips on a better workout plan, please let me know.

My Goal is to get toned and lose fat inside 4-5 months. I have a family function to get to and haven't seen them for a while.

I have also read that it may be better to do upper body on a monday and thursday and lower body on a tuesday and friday? Or something like that. If this is better so i dont hurt for too long, that would be great.

I do this about twice a week at the moment.

I'm sorry I don't have any feedback since I am new also. I just want to welcome you to the forum. I am sure others that have a lot of knowledge will respond to your post. Welcome to the forum.:)
 
Welcome. Are you looking into splitting up your days into upper/lower or does it matter. I would like to think that even after the 4-5 months you would continue a healthy lifestyle. Slimming down also starts with your diet btw. I dont think that plan is sufficient, are you a complete newcomer to lifting (just starting)?

Thanks for replying.

I am new to this, I have worked out before in the past, but as I moved state, I have not consistently worked out since Jan 2006. I have been on and off since then.

I am OK with exercise, I am just not sure how to get the results I would like, combination of exercises, weight routines, etc.

I would like to workout with a SPLIT week for e.g. A B X A B X X seperating upper and lower body.

At the moment I would do all the exercises above in one workout, but that normally knocks me out for a few days, as in sore legs, a few days later.

I am generally a healthy eater.

My goal is to reach a "good" point by November, but definately keep it maintained once I reach my goals. There would be no way I would go back. The only reason I have put on weight around my stomach and face is due to lack of exercise, with change of jobs, medications, and poor diet in the past.

Any other questions, just ask.
