Well Ellendehl. I did not get it exactly. Are you afraid to gain weight? As per the numbers that you gave you are underweight.
You did not mention how many calories are you taking in the whole day. I think that the calories that you getting throughout the day is low, and believe it or not this will result in weight gain. When it comes to the weight loss game less is not better.
Your body needs a minimum amount of calories to function properly (this depends on your age, frame, and activity level but roughly it is 2,000 calories daily for women and 2,500 for men).
Consuming less than the minimum amount of calories will trigger the starvation response where your body will automatically slows down your metabolism to keep your vital organs (heart, kidneys, lungs,...) working properly. It saves the calories for your vital organs. Slow metabolism means weight gain even if you do not eat much. Your low calorie intake is confirmed by you having no energy.
If you are looking to lose weight you should do the following:
- Raise your calorie consumption to the minimum level.
- Stay away from sugary stuff.
- Minimize your consumption of bad fats.
- Eat five meals a day.
- Have a good portion of your diet as protein (tricky for a vegetarian but doable).
- Drink a lot of water.
- Have a lot of rest.
Another thing about working out. I don't know why you gave up on the idea. Working out, especially weight training, builds muscles (good for both males and females). Muscles are active fibers and burn more calories than other body components. Therefore if you build a nice pack of muscles you will burn more calories all through the day, even when you are resting.
I hope that this helps. Good Luck.
