Sport Need help with meals!

Sport Fitness
Hey,

I found this forum a few months ago when I started weight training. I weight 155lb and am around 6ft tall, no idea what my body fat is. Anyway I wanna bulk up alot and I've been lifting weights for a few months now and have only gained a few kgs. I've checked my training program out and it is helping me tone but not gain muscle mass so I'm pretty sure I need to eat more. It's a lot harder then it sounds! I've read around and I've gathered that I should be eating 6 good meals a day but can only come up with a few. I'm a Muslim so can only eat halal food which narrows the food down. Anyway this is what I was thinking.

2 scrambled eggs with toast and some fruit juice
Tuna Mayonnaise sandwich with cucumber (4 slices)
Oatmeal with a cut up apple
Protein Shake

That's all I can come up with and I only take the protein shake after a workout which is 3 times a week. I also snack on some fruit as well. Currently I've also been snacking on chocolates and crisps as well as eating fast food.

Should I cut out the snacking and fast food? If so what can I replace them with because the 3 meals I've listed will only get me through till around 3-4pm!

Thanks for your help!

yes cut out your snacking and fast food. i would cut out the fruit juice cuz chances are its full of sugar, make sure your gettin enough water each day. you can replace them w/ meals of lean meat, good carbs and vegis. tuna is always easy and i buy chicken in bulk in bags and pull them out of the freezer and cook some up for the next couple days while your at it. brown rice with that is good. look up LV's Grocery List and that will give you some good ideas on what to construct your meals of. hope this helps feel free to ask any questions...

Thanks for the reply. I'll cut the fruit juice and replace that with a lot of water a day. How much water should I be drinking?

Also with the chicken breasts, I know their high in protein but I'm having trouble finding a place to buy some halal chicken breasts. Any help? I'm pretty sure the answer to this is no but would it be possible to replace that with a fast food piece of chicken? As in the one in a burger not with chips?

Also as a traditional dish we normally have roti with a dish made every day. I've never been sure how healthy it is so could anyone clarify that so I can either include it or take it out of my diet.

I've looked through the list and have found it a help but can't seem to find enough protein! Most of the stuff I can't eat (haram)!

I took a test over the net and figured out I need to be intaking 3306.089 calories a day to gain weight. How close am I with the 4 meals listed and what kind of meals will help me get there?

Thanks!

If you're trying to bulk, you're going to need more food than that. Take all the foods that you can eat (and actually like to eat) and start making meals. Use Fitday.com to count your calories. :)

Need some help. I'm trying to fix up a bulking program and have found a few foods that should do quite well but I'm still missing a big meal that will get me a lot of protein as my main meal around 8pm. I've read around and chicken breasts seems to be the best one but is there any alternative?

Thanks

i drink around a gallon of water throughout the day... yeah you can have any lean meat some are better than others but turkey breast, tuna, salmon whatever you feel like eating. you can only eat chicken so much before needing a little variety lol make sure you have some complex carbs like brown rice and a good helpin of vegis with it

halal food is basically how the animals are killed for food. Stuff like pork and beef we can't eat because of that and some chicken but most of my local butchers have halal chicken so that shouldn't be too bad. How much chicken breasts should I be eating in a day as in the size of it as I wanna figure out how much it's gonna cost. Also how should I cook it as I don't have the foreman grill and am not a great cook!

Hey,

I've found a site to calculate how much protein and calories I would eat if I started my diet and here's what I've got so far.

I've added in tuna mayonnaise sandwiches, oats with apple, scrambled eggs and chicken breast fillets as well as some fruit and I was told that was only 850 calories and around a 100g of protein. Is that correct as it seems an awfully small amount of calories!
