Need help on complete body work

I'm looking to improve my overall fitness - strength, speed, flexibility, and so on. I'm a pretty average 18 year old, not over or underweight, short or tall, or anything out of the ordinary. Suggestions on where to start?
 
Well, you need the strength and flexibility to do something before you can do it faster (speed) or for longer (endurance), so that's where I'd start -- a simple strength training program with some flexibility work, especially stretching any particularly tight muscles. Once you've done a good 6 weeks of training like this, consider the context in which you want more speed "and so on," and start working it in appropriately.
