Hi guys,

Let me start off by saying that this forum is awesome. Lots of great info here.

I am 21 yrs old and a full time engineering student so I don't have too much time to work out everyday. I weigh 190 lbs and am 5'10" tall and 19% body fat (yeah kinda over weight for my height and age).

Here is my work out routine:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: full body workout, Cardio for 45mins to an hr (cardio can vary day by day: Basketball, stairs, hills, or track)

Nothing Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday

Here is my eating schedule:
7AM: cereal with skim milk, milk and fruit or oatmeal and yougurt
10AM: One fruit and dried nuts (walnuts, almonds, cashews, raisins)
12PM: Salad, soy chips, yougurt
2PM: One Fruit
4PM: Oatmeal raisin bar
7:30ish: Dinner (varries day by day), Soy milk

The problem I am having is that even with this schedule, I am not seeing any results. My mid section is the one that need works. I am also a vegetarian so I don't get that much protein that any other person would get by eating meat. I also don't have that much time daily for working out everyday.

Can anyone help with setting up a better routine than this!!!!

You metioned that you are a vegetarian ... I see you drink milk, not all vegetarians do. Can you eat eggs or cottage cheese ? Fish ?? Just trying to throw ya some protein ideas.

You definitely should be include protein sources in your diet...cottage cheese, eggs, tofu...maybe Trainer Lynn can help since she's a vegetarian. If I were a vegetarian I'm thinking I'd eat a lot of egg whites!!

What do you mean by a full body workout?

Here is the recommended body fat % FOR MEN

Essential Fat= 2-4%

Athletes= 6-13%

Fitness= 14-17%

Acceptable= 18-25%

Obese= 25% plus

*These numbers are according to The American Council on Exercise

I am also a vegetarian (thanks for remembering that Teresand77!). From your post above you definitely need more protein and you definitely need a better workout plan. Even if you are short on time... you can still get a kick butt workout in there.

Protein ideas for vegetarians:

Eggs, milk, tofu, tempeh, beans, greens, cheese, cottage cheese, tofu or veggie patties, HEMP BREAD (so friggin' good and good for you), Kashi Go Lean cereal, salmon, all natural peanut butter, tuna, etc.
