Sport Need help, exactly how should I eat if I want to get fit?

I joined a gym and am intent on trying to get into shape for the summer. I'm not overweight(6'2, 174), just flabby with no definition. I've printed out and researched the exercises and workouts, but along with that I am always told that you can do workouts until your blue in the face, but if you're not eating right, you won't see any results. So, with that said, exactly how should I eat? Like what would a good breakfast, lunch, and dinner plan be for someone that's looking to burn fat by toning up and is on somewhat of a budget at the supermarket? My goal isn't major muscle mass, I just want a sleek/toned look. Thanks!
