I have been on my diet for almost a month now. At first, things were going well and I managed to lose about 5 pounds in the first 2 weeks, but now my weight isn't budging, and I'm hovering over the same number +/- 3 pounds. I am exercising about 4-5 times a week for at least 30 minutes, so I'm sure my inability to lose more weight is due to my diet. I started off at 1500 calories/day (I'm a female, 5'5, medium frame, 22 years old) but now find myself consuming 1700 to 1800 calories per day. So my question is, does anybody have any advice on how to eat less without feeling deprived? I know many of you eat less that 1700 or even 1500 calories a day, so what do you do to stop food cravings? If it's just a psychological thing where you tell yourself "I'm not hungry", tried it, and it doesn't work for me : ) Better yet, does anyone have a certain type of low cal food that keeps them full longer? Any advice would be helpful. I'm getting discouraged from the lack of results : ( Thanks!

What are you eating
How are you keeping track of calories
how are you measuring what you're eating (ie portion sizes how are you ensuring that the portion size is correct)
What are you doing for exercise

if you don't already i'd suggest getting an account at or one of the 100s of other free sites on the web to record calories and weigh and measure and record everything you put into your mouth - then after a week - see how your nutrients break down..

Protein and fiber are both excellent for keeping you feelin full and satisfied and if those nutrients are low it could explain why you're hungry.
