Hello there!
I am a 19 year old weight lifter and athlete.
Previously I was into calisthenics mostly and achieved a good physique with them, but I have recently began going to the gym at my school.
I have a question about my routine which regards my schedule.
I go 4 days a week, but unfortunately these days are monday - thursday and this is not going to change. So you see my dilema. I have 4 workout days and 3 recovery days in that order.
I need to create a routine to match this schedule and have came up with 2 ideas
The first idea is conventional:
Mon: Chest/shoulders/triceps
Tuesday: Legs/lower back
Wednesday: Cardio and sport specific training
Thursday: Back/biceps (pullups and rows mostly)
Fri-Sun: rest
The second idea is something I sort of made up
Monday: Upperbody.. Chest/shoulders/triceps/back/biceps
Tuesday: Legs/lowerback
Wednesday: sport specific training
Thursday: Upperbody again.. Chest/shoulders/triceps/back/biceps Very intense day
Fri-Sun: rest
I am an intermediate level bodybuilder, not quite a beginner, but knowhere near advanced or expert. I do think full body workouts might work but they won't really fit into my schedule.
Is the more conventional training plan better or might my idea work?
