need advice

Hi,
I've, up until recently, been running and rowing, every other day.
I lost the impetus for some reason I don't recall - working at the house I think, and have now developed a wee pot belly.
I was aware during the rowing of pressure on my knees which, at 40, I need for at least another 30 years (I hope).
I'm now considering not returning to road running, reducing the rowing and getting an elliptical trainer.
anyone with experience of theNordicTrack CXT950, or similar speak up!
Its my frontrunner but I've not seen one personally, let alone used it.
Is it possible to run on this model?
I want to recover and maintain my cardio vascular health.
Thanks

Yes I have had some experience with these ellipticals. I am pretty sure it's not this one in particular, but they are both similar. My father also has bad knees and had been using an elliptical similar to that for sometime with fairly good results. I've used them, but only to try it out at the gym-- I was on a restricted time limit and just wanted to hit the weights.

In short the ellipticals are a good bet for those with bad knees and still want to get the cardio.

Thanks, I don't think I've bad knees, rather a sense that thats where I feel the most strain. I looked at your profile and you're pretty young, I ran alot on the roads for years, and think I shouldn't do this anymore.
When I was young there were no ellipticals, I don't have time for a gym, so I need something handy, which looked like an elliptical given its very low joint impact.
Thanks for your comment
