Need Advice Please, Concerned about my wife.

I'm not sure how to get my wife motivated to lose weight, I've tried getting a Gym membership with her and going with her, but that didn't work. We went a few times before she just didn't want to go anymore. She's always been big since I met her, but she's been saying for the past 2 years how she wants to lose weight but never seems to want to do anything with me. She was 297 when I met her and she got down to 247 ..now in the past 4 months she's almost back up to 300. I've tried cooking healthier for her, I've tried to get her to go on walks with me nothing seems to motivate her. I constantly hear about how she doesn't like her body how she feels embarrassed to be naked around me. She's 10 years younger than me (25) and has way more health problems than me, bad knees, Fibromyalgia really bad snoring. The snoring went away when she dropped 50 pounds about a year ago now that she's put the weight back on it's back. I love her and I want her to be happy with herself and do this for her.

Although exercise is great for health, it is not the major component to loosing weight, and often people will not feel like exercising until the start to see some progress,

Diet is the all important part of the equation, it is still possible to put on excess weight even if the food would generally be considered healthy. One of the biggest problems is understanding portion sizes, it is very easy to simply eat to much of a good thing.
 
Hello. I probably shouldn't say this.But my husband and I got on a healthy lifestyle because I could hardly walk my knees and ankles were so painful. It took a long time, but we are now reaping the rewards.
The last couple of stones (28lbs) seems to like being around me, I just couldn't shift it! We both joined slimming world 2 weeks ago. I have lost 6 and a half pounds in a week and my husband twice that. There was a lady there who has slimmed down from 30stones (multiply by 14) for pounds to just 12 stones.However. It takes commitment and the hardest part is admitting to yourself that you need help and heaving yourself out of the chair to do something about it. No one can do it for you.
Admiral as it is, for you to do so much for her, she has to take the first step herself. If you carry on as you are, she will balloon out of all proportion.As did the lady at the club.
Have a chat with your wife's doctor and dietician if he has one.They will advise you how to get her moving to do something for herself.Good luck to you both, and give your wife a hug from me.She must hate what she has become and, at the moment, she is a downward spiral that only she can stop. Once she pulls herself out of it, she is lucky to have a lovely supportive husband to take the journey alongside her
 
hello there. im prince and im a nurse. i congratulate you for being such a supportive husbnd. you really love your wife so much that youre doing anything for her. I have friends which have similar story like you. and this advise comes from some experts which helped them and their wife regain confidence in getting their goals.
1. hug and kiss your wife always. tell her you love her. This actions can make her feel loved.
2. watch a motivational videos together.
3. give her options. dont control her. let her decide wats best. provided, that it will be beneficial for her health.
4. let her avoid sugars and starches. this could trigger the insulin production thys difficult for the fats to burn.

I can relate to wifey on this. I am mortified to even take off my clothing in front of my husband sigh.

Just continue giving her that support and love and she'll catch on. I love that you are so supportive and looking for ways to help her. Go HUBBY !!!!
 
I may have missed this but do you have children Izzdan?
