need advice on current HS lifting plan

Just wondering if this lifting plan is good. im a senior in high school and this is the plan that our teacher gave us, tell me what you think.

Bench Press

Squats

Deadlift

Shoulder Press

Pull-ups & Curls

5 sets of 5 reps each, starting with low weight and increasing weight each set. for pull-ups/curls, do 5 curls of 45 lb, then 5 pull-ups right after, then rest til next set.

also, I am currently doing this plan every other school day, but i was wondering if i could do it more frequently, like 4 or 5 times a week. thanks for the advice.

Sounds like what we used to call the "bigger, faster, stronger" program. It's what we used in HS in my weight training class. I found it to be effective in gaining strength, but not so much in gaining size. Don't know what you are after. I think we did it 5 by 5 on Monday, 3 by 3 on Wed. and 5-4-3-2-1 on Friday. I really liked it, kind of what I still base my workouts on when I go to a gym.

I see many people do the same work out at my school. Its the generic one that almost most people use, though there are many reasons why many of these people do not see the results they want to. Everyone is diffrent so if it works stick to it though I have some advisements. How long have you been doing this for? After a while your body becomes accostumed to your work out if you do the same thing all the time and will slow progresss. I use a method of muscle confusion chaning up my work out all the time, though many people dont enjoy that but make sure you mix it up once and a while. Don't repiditly do the same thing. Other than that looks good, I do most of this in my work out.

Add cardio if you haven't. Many people skip out on this but its an important thing in a work out.

The big question is how is this working for you? Are you seeing good results? In muscle gain or fat loss? It would be easier to help with more information on your results since like I said, everyone is diffrent.
