Sport natural soy protein

ok iv been hearing bad stuff about soy protein. but isnt soy what is in good ol fresh beans? im recently eating a lot of lentils, split peas, black beans, red coloradoes ect. they have huge amounts of fiber and are really good for you. but they have soy protein dont they??? so...does ~25 grams of 'bean' protein effect estrogen levels and will it halt my gains in any way? kashi has some soy protein too. i thought soy was good for you -_- its still protein how is it bad for you? im a little frustrated

soy protein comes from SOY beans...not just beans/legumes in general.
 
What exactly have you heard about soy protein that is bad?

the research is still inconclusive. for every study i find that says 'soy reduces breast cancer risk in women' i can find a study that says 'soy increases prostate cancer risk in men'

the same can be said for soy increasing estrogen in men and women, decreasing testosterone in men...etc.

so since science still can't figure out if soy is good, bad, or neutral healthwise, I try to recommend people don't try to thrive on soy alone.

plus a lot of people have issues digesting soy and get bloated and gassy.
 
thats wierd...a protein that can make me more vulnerable to a disease...
