My Weight Loss Journey...again!

Hi!

My name is Katelyn, I am 20 years old, Engaged to be married to my fiance Jason on May 26, 2018. We just bought our first home in July 2017, And we have two little furbabies, Brody & Dex.

In my freshman year of high school I was a healthy weight of 150, (I'm 5'4") I met Jason (my fiance) and I started the depo shot; over the course of 4 years I gained so much weight that by the end of 2014 I was my heaviest ever at 210lbs :(

In February of 2016 I started taking a doctor prescribed Weight loss pill along with diet and exercise, and by april I had lost 40lbs and was at 170lbs, Finally feeling confident with myself and overcoming my anxiety and depression. In July Jason and I moved out on our own into a tiny apartment. In November 2016, I lost my job at Walmart Pharmacy. By January of 2017 I was already at 180lbs again. I stayed pretty steady around 185lb the majority of this year, but I guess with the stress of buying a new house and planning a wedding I've kinda let myself go and now i'm weighing in at 191lbs :(

This has made me extremely self conscious with myself and I feel as if I'm a failure. I've had some pretty horrible thoughts cross my mind lately because of it. So now I'm trying to get back on the bandwagon ( this time without the Dietary Supplement ) and lose 25-30lbs before our wedding in May of 2018. I would like to be 160-165lbs by then. I joined this site to find motivation and encouragement and share my journey with others!

Thank you for reading about me! Best of wishes to you. :)

Welcome, i just joined too! You sound like you have a lot going on at the moment so it's understandable your healthy eating might not be prioritised.. could I ask what weight loss supplements you were taking and why you chose to stop?
A lot of those things are only really suitable in the short term though so it makes sense you might not continue.
You are not a failure, people's weights change a lot in times of stress. Even when I'm not stressed my weight can shift by 7 or 8 pounds up or down in a week
I find that making sure I do 3 or 4 miles brisk walking each day helps with it, but as I'm addicted to potatoes and bread that can often not be enough! What do you usually eat, and how much exercise do you do? I am looking forward to talking about this with people as sometimes it's hard to know whether I'm doing the right thing and sharing can only help! Good luck and keep me updated but please don't feel like a failure xxx

Hi Katelyn!
Nice to meet you.

I just wanted to say that based on your story, I can say that you have no problem.
You are quite easily coping with overweight, compared to other people who I know. I have no doubt that you will succeed in your plan.
Welcome to the forum!

Hi, Katelyn
Congrats on your engagement!
First of all, just want to acknowledge you for joining the
forum and sharing your story. It takes courage to do
that and to now set a brand new goal for yourself.
Your goal sounds great. Clear, measurable, firm deadline.
It sounds like you have had some success in the past losing weight. I know that you've mentioned diet and exercise, but I'm curious what specifically has worked for you in the past to lose weight and what has not worked?
Thanks
Chris

You seem prone to weight gain considering you're still quite young. At your age, your metabolism should still be high.

Once you're married and the babies start coming in, your weight is bound to increase.

I advise you to take your weight gain head on.

Find an exercise and diet regime that can help you keep you weight off and off permanently.

My friend was able to lose about 50 pounds over a period of time starting with lots of stomach reduction exercises, weight lifting and lastly, a change in diet. He cut out bread totally and started eating smaller portions. He had one cheat day

He also never drinks alcohol so no beer which is termed liquid bread. Consistency was his secret.

Interestingly, he never jogged. He hates jogging
