my trainer is confusing me

I go to Gold's Gym, and have been since January. I have a trainer I see twice a month. He's a good guy and all. I mean, he's grumpy, but I don't want it any other way.

In the beginning, he told me we were going to wait to work out my abs. I have so much belly chub from having big babies (9 lbs and 10.5 lbs) and c-sections, that it seems like I'm not doing anything. Yes, my legs and arms are smaller, and I do plenty of cardio, but I'm still not working on my belly. He just keeps saying that I'm almost ready... for a few months now.

I am not particularly impressed with the way things are going. It's going to take forever to get my belly back from those surgeries. Would it be o.k. to do some simple things at home, like crunches? Maybe Gold's just doesn't have ab things for beginners. I don't know. But I need to get on the ball. Otherwise I'm gonna be a stick figure with a pot belly!

What's his reasoning for not working on your abs...

If you aren't satisfied -it's your money -get a different trainer

An Ab workout WILL NOT reduce belly flab - only diet will do that...

Abs aside -a core workout is probably one of the most beneficial workouts you can do - it helkps with balance - helps with posture - makes you stand taller and look thinner - band will also help with a strong back as well

He's probably referring to direct ab work, which isn't really needed if he's having you do core work elsewhere. Well, it isn't needed until you want your abs to bulge a bit (until your bf is low enough to make this worthwhile).
