My Situation.

Its kinda like that saying, "You don't know what you've got till its gone", up until about September, 2007, i was a pretty skinny kid, and had like no fat on my body at all. But I always ate an awful lot, and it wasn't usually healthy foods either. Then, when the school year rolled back in, I discovered that my belly stuck outwards from my body. At first I found this very odd, and i began to think about it and realiized that i need to change my habits. I joined the cross country team at school, but I still ate like a cow. I started running every morning, throughout the entire winter. Then, around March, I found no change in my stomach size, and I gave up. Then I found this forum, and found out its not so much about activity, its about your calorie intake. I then started to eat less. But after only a week or so, i would just go crazy (usually over the weekend, i guess cause im home all day) and binge. And i mean binge, like, 1000 calories over my daily intake. this happened week by week up until about two weeks ago, where i basically stopped going under my limit. I would try to eat at most to my limit, but i even find that hard, i can go the whole day eating heathly and nutritious foods, but once the evening comes, something comes over me. I wont even be hungry and ill just eat anything, its driving me insane, and im worried how im gunna turn out if i keep doing this, and what annoys me more, is that i have no fat anwhere else other than my stomach, so i usually walk around school with my abs flexed(which gives me a flat stomach, and i can kinda see my muscles).

Im 15 years old, my birthdays in October, in grade 10, im 135-145pounds(somewhere between there) and 6 feet tall. Im acually underweight according to my weight-height ratio thing. My daily calorie intake is between 1700 and 1900. I guess im worried for the summer because no one has seen me shirtless since last summer, and i had a flat stomach then, and im not sure whether i can fix this problem or not.

The main point of this whole thing is, any advice or suggestions on how i can be rid of the fat on my belly, I dont even care whether i lose or gain weight in the process.

Thank you,
Lee Eckensweiler

I'm no expert, but I consider myself well educated in this type of situation, I've been going to a sports performance center working out for football for the past year 6 days a week.

Well I for a while was on the whole 6 pack kick and it sounds to me like your
"tummy" is probably one, just the slight jutting out of your ab muscles, but also you may have developed a thin layer of fat from all those junk foods.

The trick to getting rid of that layer of fat is to try to take in max your calorie intake for the day, but try to go a little lower. NOW HERE IS THE KEY POINT!!!!! Try to eat foods without fat too like at least under 60g of fat a day I try to keep my fat intake under 40g, and just to give you an idea a little bag of potato chips is probably 15-20g of fat :p.

Also those cravings you have at night could be one of two things, one you just get hungry at night thats how it is, or two you are bored and you aren't hungry so you eat to feed your boredom. EITHER WAY the trick is basically willpower just don't eat if it will take you over your recommended calorie intake....sure its hard but willpower is the process by which you are going to lose that "tummy"

So quick recap...
Eat Recommended calorie intake
Eat less fatty foods only about 60-65g a day max (I keep mine under 40g)
And of course continue to exercise, especially cardio that is the best fat burning exercise you can do, make sure your heart rate gets into the fat burning area.
