My journey through p90x

Hey guys, this is my first post here and I would like to document my entire p90x experience. Some background info on me is I am 17 years old and currently a senior in High School. After school I am joining the US Navy. Currently I am in decent shape. Six foot 1 and 190 pounds. I can currently slide by the navy fitness expectations but I would like to be able to surpass the minimum requirement. I currently go to the gym everyday but the problem with it is that I eat whatever I want with no specific "healthy" diet. About a year ago I was in terrible shape being 6 foot 1 and over 250 pounds. I had finally had enough and started to eat right work out and become an overall healthier person. And here I am now.

I chose to do p90x because I have seen success from friends in school and figured I would try it out. My p90x journey starts Monday (2/7/11) and I plan on doing the full plan and workouts daily.

Starting tomorrow I will document my height, weight, waist size and possibly pictures daily as well as what I ate for the day and the workout I did.

As I write this I am cooking my chicken for breakfast and lunch tomorrow..hahaha

Tomorrow I will post back after day 1.

Wish me luck and feel free to message me with and questions, comments, and tips are greatly appreciated.

Good luck dude!! Let me know if you need anything. I am on my second round/second week of P90x! It is an excellent workout. Are you a Beaachbody coach? If not are you signed up for the club member ship or at least a free membership? Just wondering. Bring IT!!!

Day 1

So today I woke up weighing in at 204.5 pounds wearing boxers only. Let me start off with this, the p90x routine is not something to take lightly it is intense. For breakfast I had my egg white omelette with mushrooms and fat free cheese with a glass of water. For lunch 2 cups of romaine lettuce with 6oz of chicken and fat free dressing. After that I went to work, came home and did the workout which wasn't challenging to the point where I was unable to do it but I did struggle especially doing all the pull ups and pushups. I did also do Ab Ripper X which was nearly impossible for me to complete even though situps were part of my regular gym routine. For dinner I was kind of lost on what to have even though its not part of the diet I figured it was a good balance of foods, I had a Boars head everroast chicken wrap with lettuce and low fat cheese. The wrap itself only had 100 calories.

Day 1 of p90x was challenging but not impossible.

Lets see how day 2 goes.

Keep up the good work

Good luck,
It's good that the program is pushing you a little. The first phase is really the warm up, but if you find that you are needing a little more of a workout consider trying doing the doubles program when staring the second phase. You will definitely get a lot out of it. I am glad to hear that you are really pushing to complete the dietary portion of the workout I know that it is rough to find everything on the list but the closer you stick to the diet the better the results you will have.
rykrieg, is right at the very join the free membership to log your workouts you can enter in for free daily drawings for $300, which is cool. If you are taking the results and recovery drink It might be better for you to join the membership club you can get 10% discount off all products which is cool and have access to other nice stuff. If you're not working with a coach yet look me up I have the same screen name as I do hear.
Keep up the good work….

P90x Day 2

Alright, Day 2 plyometrics.

I lost alot of water weight from just the first day I weighed in at 198 flat.

Breakfast was a Protein shake, which I did not enjoy haha lunch was a chef salad, and dinner was grilled chicken with mushrooms.

Plyo was challenging but I got through it all keeping up for the most part with my hear rate staying pretty steady (don't have a monitor yet). I run alot so the cardio wasn't a problem.

Day 3 is next lets see how it goes.

Sorry for the short post its been a long day.

Day 3

Weight: 194

Alright, day 3 arms and shoulders wasn't to bad. I didn't do ab ripper because my abs were not really up for it but im sure I burned alot of calories either way.

I have been mixing up the diet a little bit still eating healthy foods and small portions breakfast was a banana, lunch was buffalo chicken and dinner was a 6 inch subway sandwich (I know it wasn't to good but its all i ate all day and I wasn't really home).

I will post back tomorrow about how yoga goes.

By the way my legs are extremely sore today going up and down the stairs is like a death sentence.

Day 4

Weight- 192

Today was a good day, breakfast was a banana and lunch was a chicken sandwich with lettuce and cheese on whole wheat. Dinner was chicken parm. I know I know but it was well worth it.

I did yoga today and even had my sister and brother join in.

Yoga is not something to be taken lightly it is very hard and you need to follow directions exactly. My legs are still sore from plyo my arms and shoulders aren't to bad which is good and bad I guess.

I will post back tomorrow, going to bed its been another long day

Hey man this sounds great. Did you start your fit test with your weigh in at 190 lbs and then jump up to 204 lb one your first day? But I see that you are back to 192lb, that’s awesome. Your legs are going to take a beating this first month. I remember my first month even into my second running just felt weird to me. But they got stronger and by the end of the second month they were able to go all the way through the yoga. The half moon is right about where I had my hardest part.
Keep up the good wrok….
