Well I am turning 15 in one month and have offically began my diet two days ago Tuesday,May 20,2008. I am posting this to keep me motivated but also to find out flaws in my diet and excercise and to get tips from all of the great people here. Currently I cannot do any jogging or things of that sort because of a sprain ankle so I am limited to weights in my home. I do muy thai kick boxing,grappling, and Brasilian Jiu Jitsu.

I am currently 14 years old.
My blood pressure is currently 160/80 which im trying to get to a healthy rate.
My weight is apprx. 240lbs. I am trying to get down to around 170 and build a
better physic.
I am about 5' 10.5''

Welcome to the site mate, congrats on making the attempt to better yourself? 240 pounds? Do you know what your body fat percentage is? The fact that you can do clap pushups at that weight should mean you have a decent amount of muscle. Ok, so first thing is first, your diet :

I personally started the path to cutting body fat percentage and gaining muscle almost 9 months ago now and only in the last 1-2 months have a cleaned up my diet and seen much better improvements. Your diet is the largest part of losing weight and becoming healthy so you really need to look into this. I wont go into too much detail as there are heaps of useful stickies on the nutrition forums but you need to know your calorie maintenance level for the day and then subtract 20% from it to lose weight at a healthy level without starving the body. Calories in vs calories out is the most important thing in any diet (technically you could have a cupcake diet as long as calories are correct) but you will see better results if you also eat healthy foods and cut out the crap. In your current diet I would cut oput the unneccessary sugars in the syrup and sugar. Cheese can be removed from most things as it is loaded with fat. Remove any drink that isnt water as fruit juice etc is packed with sugar and wont really help you in any way (I know this is hard because I have a sweet tooth). Hot Dog and Cheeseburger is really a no no if you want to lose 70lbs. For more info check out the nutrition pages.

Your workout is hard to know without knowing the weights you are doing so if you could provide those it would be good especially because it will help you keep track of your progress. Sets and reps mean nothing without weight. Don;t worry about not being able to run etc for cardio as weights will help you burn as much if not more calories when done correctly. I would suggest a full body workout as you want the whole body dveloping to burn more calories overall and you cannot spot reduce fat so there is no point doing heaps of situps or whatever to try and get rid of the belly. There are way too many threads on "is my routine good" on the forums so I wont tell you any routines just look around in the journals and weights sections.

I hope this helps and please feel free to ask me and the others any further questions you may have. I think you will learn alot by simply reading the forums and taking in the various questions many many people have asked before you.
 
Well all my workouts are being done so far with 2 20lb dumbells and 2 15 lb dumbells, When i put the title 15lb or 20lb I was intending to mean those excercises with with 2 dumbells of that weight each. Has far has dinner I am trying to find a good substitute and I have cut out the waffles and syrup for a healthy oatmeal that is all natural. I am also looking for a healthy snack that I can eat during school so I can add up to my total of 6 meals a day because there is that 4 hour eating gap between breakfast and my lunch that I would like to fill but im looking into a fast carriable snack any ideas?

Also thank you very much for your help and support. I am not sure of my BF% but it cannot be that low but I am active enough where I can do more than 5 clap push ups that was more of an end of my workout last push thing. I should be able to do atleast 20 clap push ups. My pushups in my workout I try to do perfectly not too fast chest touching.

Also you are saying to cut out the cheese from my sandwich? Should I add anytihng like pickles to it or anything of that line?

1\2 Cup of Oatmeal with a Banana & 14oz water: 6am

4 Strawberries 14oz water: 2:30pm
2 Hot dogs, 1 Corn on the cob, 1\2 cup of Chicken with noodles paramesan and vegies & 14oz Crystal light: 6pm

My dinner was absolutly terrible for me so I am going to start cooking for my self from now on. I walked around a tiny bit today ankle was bothering me. I do not think I am doing any other excercises today, but tomorrow I will. Is there any ideas how to make that oatmeal more bearable? It tasted like thick water =[. Cant wait until I can start jogging again. Blood pressure still high so I will cut out the hot dog and stuff it was left overs made by my dad so I will look into healthier dinners in recipe section if you have any personal favorites post them up for me thanks :)

Ashamed of food I ate at the family picnics this weekend lol so today I am going to gym I will post more about it when im back
