I was thinking, and sushi popped in my head. Now all I can think about is how much I want some. I only eat the cooked kind because I can't imagine eating raw meat, especially seafood. The thing is, as I don't want to deprive myself of my favorite foods all the time, and then just one day binge on them and ruin my efforts all together. So I thought it would be a good idea to tell you guys what it is that I am craving, and maybe you can give me suggestions on how to eat it healthy. Cooking it, how much to consume, and so forth.

Today, I want sushi. They have this one that is at Hunan's, a restaurant and bar that is made with soft shell crab, I think it is called spider something, wrapped with cucumber, ginger, sticky rice, seaweed, and that is all I know. It has this spicey sauce that comes on the side that is oh so good. I think they serve a plate of 5 or 4. Do you have any suggestions? Do you know of any good cooked sushi?

Just don't eat like a pig and you will be fine.

I don't think sushi is that bad for you really (assuming you don't eat too much of it!). If you eat it with soya sauce that will be full of salt...so maybe try not to eat too much of that? But generally i think it is a good choice.

I make sushi at home. I went and got a little kit from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I use brown rice with Splenda, and sugar free rice vinegar. Then I add in things like grilled chicken, green onions, red onions, and carrots. Then I dip it a homemade fish sauce.

Speaking of, I make an AWESOME/healthy Bánh h?i (vietnamese vermicelli). Of course the part that makes the actual dish so damn good when you eat it out is the Nuoc Mam Cham (a fish sauce that is poured over the noodles) but I figured out how to prepare it healthy with sugar free sodium free rice vinegar, and Splenda. My protein is usually beef and it is soooooo good!

When I want sushi, I just eat sushi, but I eat mostly just the raw bits...
But, a lot of times I'm craving sushi, what I really want is sushi rice.
Something easy you can make yourself is chirashi (scattered sushi).

Make sushi rice and then put the things you like from the sushi right on top, almost like a little sushi salad. Tastes like sushi, but really easy to make at home.No special equipment required. Plus, way cheaper then going out to dinner.
Sometimes i'll just make a very small portion of this as an appetizer to a dinner with lots of veggies.

This sounds interesting. I want to try this.

Hmm yum, thanks for this, it sounds good, part of the reason I like it too is for the rice. Most of the time I never even dip in soy sauce and if I do it is only a corner and barely that because it tastes so salty.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I haven't been on since that day, and to let you know, yes I did stop and get my sushi. I was going to a friend's house, and they give you five pieces. So i decided to get it after talking about it to my friend, and asking her if she'd ever tried it and she said no. I didn't think she would like it because she is very picky and doesn't really like to try anything new, might I add that she is a twig. So, I knew I at least wouldn't eat all five, because she was going to try it with me, after I convinced her that she would like it, it was different but good. She ate one, and like it, so she ate another, and that left me eating three, so I didn't overdo it at all, and even the five would have been okay, but I didn't even do that, so that was great. It is funny, i don't have any cravings today. Someone brought in brownies to work and I don't even want those. Not bad at all.

SNOW CRABS!!

I've been craving snow crabs for the last two weeks and I just cannot take it anymore! They are completely healthy, I think, maybe I should do an internet search, and as long as I don't become obsessed with dipping the meat in butter, but I do have zero calorie butter, then I should be fine right? I shouldn't gain weight off of eating snow crabs, at least this is what I have been told. Doing a search to see what I can find out.
