my name is jenn and I joined the forum just the other day. I am 5 feet 3 and a half inches and my starting weight was 236. I had started a program a week before I joined this forum and after my first week i lost 6 lbs! so now I am 230, and my BMI is 40.1. my waist is 46 inches :( but I have been doing a program called the G.I. diet. I actually like it! i feel good and i am not hungry all the time! i feel like i am on an even keel now, before i was always wanting that carb or sugar fix. :rolleyes: I also try to eat every three hours. ok well it is time for breakfast now.

I'm glad you started your diary. It's a great place to keep track of how your doing day to day and also, just to vent when you need to. We all keep tabs on each other this way and we are able to offer you a shoulder when you need it, or a shove if you need that! Good luck and keep up the good work.
 
Hey there, I posted on your GI diet thread and just want to say hi here on your diary. Congratulations and it's great that you joined. We welcome you here (I'm new, too) and cant wait to see more posts. :-D

thanks everyone for all the support ;) I was just wondering, i noticed there are pictures and like charts at the bottom of your posts showing like a graph of you weightloss success. I wonder how you do that? I will have to surf around to see if i can figure it out!

just go to TickerFactory.com make your ticker, copy and paste it to your signature. Remember every time you update your weight loss, you have to go back and make a new one. I have info on a couple of other places to get tickers too. I'll get back to you on it

hi everyone,
well it's almost the end of week 3. I weigh and measure on friday. I have been doing pretty good. I did go off program a little tonight. I had regular pasta instead of whole wheat, but that's ok. I have been doing great otherwise. I went to the gym monday and got a fabulous cardio workout on the treadmill. I will go tomorrow too. and I have been doing really well not eating late at night. that was my biggest downfall and since i started this program i have not eaten after 6:30 pm--not even once! I can't believe i could actually do that! :D

well, I guess I should go now. I'll check in soon ;)
 
that is very good! I really need to not eat at night.. last night though I made a good decision and ate a frozen banana! It totally satisfied me... with a bottle of water..
after I figured out how to open a frozen banana... lol
 
sounds like you are doing great honey!!! keep up the good work! are you getting any exercise in there? even just a walk for half an hour makes a HUGE difference...
 
That's great about not eating after 6:30...I'm not eating after 8 and that was a struggle at first. It really helps though doesn't it? I used to get SOOOO hungry at night and now that only has happened once in the last 3 weeks...plus I am actually hungry for breakfast. Anyway, congrats...it sounds like you are doing really well.
 
Great for you on the weight loss!!!!.......Like Blueskies....I dont eat anything after 8 pm.....I mean whats the point if you already had dinner and dessert?...Right?.....I dont think I could do 6:30 though..thats cutting it too early for me.....I would never get to sit down and have dinner with my fiance!!!!
 
That's great! You're doing really good - it takes self control to not eat after 6:30 and 8 p.m.! That is something I NEED to stop doing ... it's not even that i'm hungry, just bored! So I guess I will just to to bed or read or somehting instead haha
 
weightloss update

hey everyone!
thank you so much for all the congrats and feedback! I just wanted to report that I have lost 2 more pounds. I am now at 228!! and i lost an inch off of my waist. it has been a long time since i have been below 230. and i am glad my waist is going down. although i am planning on excersising a lot more from now on. I made it to the gym monday then i didn't get there after that. the weather has been rainy where i am so i didn't go for a walk. but i am going to the gym to do my 45 minutes on the treadmill today. my kids are going away for the weekend with my parents so i will definately be able to get there. i think that when my gym membership runs out i may invest in a treadmill or elliptical machine for my house. that way i can do it whenever.

I am able to eat my last meal at 6 pm because that's what time i eat with my kids anyway. it has been hard and at first my stomach was growling by 8 pm! last night i was fine until right before before i went to bet at 11pm my tummy started grumbling. i just said NO I AM NOT DOIN THAT!! and i was hungry when i woke up this morning but that's good! and when i stepped on the scale and measured myself, i was so happy :D

oh and a tip to the one who ate a frozen banana...peel it first, then wrap it in plastic wrap before you freeze it! ;) frozen bananas are awesome. when my son was a baby i used to make his baby food and i would puree his bananas and put them in ice cube trays and about an hour before i fed him i would take them out and let them defrost. they were still a little bit slushy but man were they yummy! it is like eating ice cream he used to love it, and so did I! he would have a bite, then mom would have a bite! he thought that was so funny :) ok well i have to get going. yard work to do today before it rains again :rolleyes: thanks to everyone for the great support!

blah blah blah somebody please give me a pep talk!

I say "blah" because i just have the blahs :( it has been raining non stop since last friday and it is tuesday and it will be raining till saturday. we are definately stuck in a rut as far as the weather goes. I feel like I am getting into a rut as well. I went to the gym yesterday and man did I sweat! so that made me feel a little better. I haven't been on track with the diet. I am still doing fine with not eating after 6:30, but i haven't been making the smartest food choices and i haven't been drinking my water like i should. so i feel kind of crummy. maybe i will go take a nap or clean the house :eek: or...something! :mad: thanks for listening,

Jenn, I am so with you on this one. I live in the northeast (Maryland) and just like where you are; it has been raining since Friday, getting quite chilly too. I just feel like staying in bed all day and reading a good book. On a good note though; house cleaning can really help burn calories, so here in the northeast, it is a perefect time to start a good fall cleaning!

hey everyone!
well I am happy to say I am in better spirits today, despite a terrible fight I had with ex husband last night. it was about him seeing the kids. he is so lazy! I had to fight with him to come down to visit my son. he just doesn't want to take part in anything with our kids. it is so sad. :(

at least it is sunny today. the rain has finally stopped! :D and i went to the gym this morning and had an awesome workout and i am doing great on my diet. it is a new week! :) I am also going to do some yardwork. well i think that is all I have to say for now. oh...of course i want to thank all of you for the encouragement! even though I was having a bad time last week, the support really helped! thanks!

well I am doing pretty good today. I had cottage cheese and some crackers, a low fat yogurt, and an apple for breakfast. of course the crackers are whole grain with no hydrogenated oils! ;) and for lunch I had tomato soup and a lean quisine meal. I really should eat more salads. I was feeling unusually slimmer this morning so I decided to measure my waist and I am already down to almost 44 inches! now i know that is still an awful number but i am down almost 3 inches in 4 weeks!! I started at 47 inches. or wait maybe it was 46. i will have to check my book where I have it written down. but still! I feel pretty good about that and i still have till friday. (that is when i measure myself) I am so glad I am out of my little funk. I maintained during that week. but that's ok at least I did not gain. hopefully I will be another pound or 2 down this friday. :cool:

ok I just checked I started out at 46 and 3/4 inches 4 weeks ago and as of this morning i was 44 and 1/2 inches! so we will see what I am friday. it will be really exciting when I am under 40 inches. I have to figure out what I am going to make for dinner tonight. I think maybe some chicken breast and basmati rice with steamed veggies. sounds good. I have a long way to go though. I am getting worried about plateaus. :rolleyes: oh well i will cross that road when i get to it.
