Ok, well i thought it'd be interesting to track how well everyone else goes in this comp (assuming that some of you are actually in it).

So, here's my team
Goalkeepers
Schwarzer - (Middlesbrough)
Scott Carson - reserve, (Charlton)

Defenders
Linvoy Primus (portsmouth)
Matthew Tayler (Portsmouth)
Mikael Silvestre (Man U)
Lucas Neill (Blackburn)
David Wright (Wigan) - Reserve

Mids
Cahill - (Everton)
C. Ronaldo - (Man U)
Steve Sidwell - (Reading)
Leon Osman - (Everton)
Hogan Eprhaim - (West Ham) - reserve

Forwards
Bent (Charlton)
Shevchenko (Chelsea)
Lee Barnard (tottenham) - Reserve

It would've helped if i knew at the start of the season how the points system actually worked, hence the reason i havn't done well so far and the fact that i've only started following soccer since Australia played in the world cup finals.

Round 1 Loss...24 points...Overall position after the round - 21981/25379
Round 2 Loss...46 points...21708/25379
Round 3 Win (yes! lol)...77 points...20875/25379
Round 4 Loss...102 points...19223/25379

I'm pretty confident this week with yesterdays game i added up my total to be 54 points for this round so far and hoping that i get some goal scoreres im tomorrow's matches. :cool:
 
you might want to add some new midfielders - those ones will never really get you a lot of points.

plus defenders tend to lose points than gain, not always a good idea to have 2 defenders from the same side in your team (if they get beat heavy, you take a double hit...)

Yeah i know, Sidwell isn't really a great choice but he had to fit in with my budget and he's doin ok so far, as is osman. And Portsmouth havn't conceded a goal yet so i'm getting alot of points from those guys.
 
they're going to get beat one day - and when they do you'll feel it double....

obviously when they dont concede goals - you get double bonus for that too....

sidwell's not a bad player, but wont score as many goals from midfield as lampard, gerrard, ronaldo or petrov will this season.
 
yeah that's true but i don't have the money for lampard and i got rid of gerrard for cahill because he's gonna score more goals for sure. And i was lucky because i got my two portsmouth defenders early in the comp and they're value has increased greatly because of the clean sheets and they've gone up in value over 3million each and are gonna be good to sell.
 
I think Ronaldo and Cahill are good choices in midfield.

I would get rid of Shevcenko for someone like Andy Johnson of Everton though. Looks like Shev is just going to be running the touchlines this year under Mourinho :rolleyes:

Shevchenko has only scored 1 goal! But i'm gonna hold him for a few more weeks.
