My eating diary.

I decided to make a little diary here, for everyone to see. I want to keep track of what I eat, but I don't do good when I right it in a notebook.. this way, I can't just decided to eat a peice of garbage food, and throw the paper away.. it will always be here!! And help me stick to it.

Anyway, I just got up a couple hours ago, and ate breakfast.

BREAKFAST:

2 slices of sourdough bread=140 calories (I threw the rest of that loaf away...too much calories.)

1 tablespoon of dijoinase mustard=5 calories

1 slice of fat free cheese=30 calories

vegetarian lunch meat (I am a vegeterian, which causes me to eat so much more carbs to fill myself up!!)=60 calories

Total for breakfast (Yeah, I had a sandwhich for breakfast..lol)=235.

I am going to go for 1000 calories a day.. 4 meals probably. I will make a new thread when I eat lunch...usually I would eat again in 2 hours.. but I am going to wait 5 hours before I eat again!!! Wish me luck.
 
Howdy melanie..... I have sandwiches for breakfast all the time. I freeze my bread in wax paper. I package up 2 slices at a time. That why when I want a sandwich its there and I don't have to look at the whole loaf. Bread is one of those things that calls my name and its better if I cant hear it in the freezer lol....
 
Hello, and welcome!!! I'm vegan, so I know hard it is the avoid the carbs, but protiens (beans and nuts) really fill you up too! And we need them.

I think 1000 cals a day might be a little on the low side, especially if your going to move too.

Thanks! I wasn't exactly sure how many calories I should be eating.

I also was diognosed with Polycystic Ovarion Syndrome..and my doctor told me the best way to get rid of all the nasty effects of it is to lose weight.. I haven't talked to her about a diet plan or anything...
 
Hey melanie......go here.....



Just put in your height, weight, age , gender and activity level. It will tell you how many calories you are taking in now to be at your weight. I think it says at the bottom to drop your calories by 500 a day to lose 1 pound a week but after your calorie count you will decide you own cushion you think you can be at and not be hungry all day. If you don't want to go by one site do a search and look for calorie maintenance calculators and take the numbers from say 3 different sites and average them. they should all be pretty close............... good luck......Lee
 
LUNCH:

Pretty much the same thing I ate for breakfast. (I need to get to the store to get dieting foods.)

2 slices of whole grain white bread=160 calories ( should have stuck with the sourdough bread!!)

1 peice of cheese=30

Dijoinaise=5

vegetarian lunch meat=60 calories

1 banana=105

Total for lunch=360

I am going to clean the house right now!! SO I will probably burn alot of calories.

I hate to be a nudge.. but i'm good at it... you really should talk to your doctor about your condition... I had heard of it, but wasn't clear on what it was... just a few googles (and you can't beleive everything you read on the internet... ) lead me to some info that you should be following a specific diet... one that's geared more towards diabetes...

talk to your doctor about what you should and shouldn't be eating..
 
welcome to the forum Punky :D I have to agree with Mal here ( shes FULL of useful info! :D) talk with doc about your diet. I have also heard the same thing (diabetic diet) but your doc will know best :D It can be done and you WILL do it. Keep your focus and determination going! We'll be here to help :D
 
Yes, PCOS is very much related to pre-Diabetes.. and my doctor told me if I don't get my weight down, I will most likely develop Type 2 diabetes. My twin brother has Juvenile type 1 diabetes. I should be eating less carbs..thats my main problem when it comes to food. I plan to talk to her about it though.
 
DINNER(about 3:30am):

I did very bad for dinner, with the choices of food I ate..

Frozen personal pizza: 430 calories

1 cup of ice cream: 130 (I would uusally have eaten half a carton, so that was good)

1 Sobe energy drink:360

TOTAL for Dinner: 1,050.

TOTAL FOR THE DAY: 1,645 (I will probably eat a banana before bed)

I am trying to first start eating alot less of the stuff I have been, so I can completely erase those foods from my usual day. I did really good today!

OK, young lady, you might have done better than you did in the past, but I don't think most of those foods would be allowed on the eating plan that's used to treat your condition...

Those energy drinks are dangerous -- pure sugar and caffeine... Cold water will perk you up...

OK lecture over...
 
I know..I try so hard to stay away from SOBE.. its such a bad drink. I stopped driking soda 3 years ago... and was doing really good, then tried my first Sobe, and got hooked!! I was actually doing good..but then my brother bought one, and didn't want it..so I took it...But I definatly am going to try harder!!

(and as for the lecture, thanks!! They actually do help me out!)
 
*sigh* Mal always beats me to the finger waggin' and head shakin'! :p:D LOL

Punky, for a quick pizza fix: on a low-carb tortilla, sprinkle a think layer of lowfat cheese, chopped tomatoes, spices and a little ham or BBq chicken, Bake in the oven or toaster-oven until the cheese is melted and its all hot. Remove it from the oven, fold it in half, cut into 4 wedges and SLOWLY ENJOY! ;) I have to do this every now and then to get by my wee bity cravin's :D YUM! :D

That pizza sounds great!! Does anyone know of and sites that list low fat snack ideas, instead of eating the really bad versions?

I read the Smallsteps website..and have been following as many as I can.

Any good sites that have helped you, please do share!! :)
 
BREAKFAST:

Oatmeal (forgot the amount..I just added it up and put it on paper.)=240 calories.

Soy milk= 27 calories

Syrup (sugar free)=20 calories

TOTAL=287 calories

I cleaned this morning, and I did some weightlifting (sort of..I lifted a heavy rock..I don't have any weights as of yet...that rock is atleast 20 pounds!!)
 
I wasn't feeling good at all yesterday. I had migraines all day, and felt dizzy whenever I got out of bed.

I haven't eaten anything other then the oatmeal I had for breakfast.. I tried, but I felt horrible!! I did drink lots of water. I am feeling better today, but I don't think I can eat anything for a little bit. The only good thing is, I probably lost weight.

Yes, you might have lost weight, but it's not a good way of doing it... you know that, young lady... :D Migraines are the worst... I getthem occassionally and the only thing i want is a cold dark room... Hope you're feeling better and can get some food into you today...
 
Alright, I got some food. I feel even better now since I ate. Its been almost 24 hours since I last ate!!

1 sandwhich=355. (I changed the type of veggie meat, and breed...)

1 banana=105.

TOTAL for I guess, breakfast=460
 
Hey Mel,

We're team mates for the next 2 week challange, so you'd better get used to me popping up in your diary!

I sure hope you're feeling better and it is very important to get the proper nutrition while feeling ill. Good job on drinking the water though.

So have you thought of any team names???
