I don't understand how sleeping on your back would make any difference whatsoever. Where did you hear that from?

Yea, I think sleeping on your back is best for your spine. Do I do it? Hell no, I curl up like a little baby. I cherish comfort too much.

As far as sleeping on your side hindering weight loss, haha, that's so out there it's comical. I wouldn't believe everything you hear. Especially wrt weight loss.

Best of luck though, with your goals. Quitting the cigs would be wonderful.

I've heard sleeping on your back is good for taking care of wrinkles - or helping so you don't get them so bad, but heck that's too hard to do the whole night long.

Also, where's your protein? I mean if you are eating KFC kabobs at least you are getting some protein. And no fruits or veggies?

I've never heard of a rice diet. Well I'm sure there is one, but I don't think it would be the most nutritious. If you are gunho about the rice diet, at least go with brown rice so it sticks to your ribs a bit more.

Good luck!

Eating to lose weight

I weighed no more than 102 pounds most of my life. Then, possibly due to meds, I shot up to around 170. Recently, I went to a nutritionist who told me I had to EAT MORE. I have a bad habit of going 24-30 hours without eating although I constantly drink water. So, using a journal to write down my intake, and armed with a list of real foods, I started my journey. I had to force myself to eat 5 times a day. A typical day for me is 5 water crackers and 2 servings of fruit for breakfast, a mid-morning protein bar or drink, chicken breast, raw broccoli, 1 fruit and milk for lunch, a mid afternoon protein bar/drink, and a chicken breast and salad for dinner. I also drink 64 or more ounces of water per day. This seems like a lot of food to me. Apparently, eating has kicked my metabolism in to gear as I have lost 10 pounds in the past 7 weeks. I have not done any exercise except some stretching and calisthenic type movements just to get my limbs moving. I should exercise more since I sit behind a computer 8 hours per day.
I am lucky in that I like raw veggies, and fresh foods. I am not into fried foods at all and I only eat candy maybe twice a year (lost my sweet tooth after having a baby). Same with chips/snacks. So, I don't have those temptations. My craving is that I could easily eat an entire pan of mashed potatoes, but so far I have just stuck to the diet and it is working. I have even had fast food, albeit a tuna or chicken sub without dressing, just use vinegar and banana peppers for taste. So for those of you who are working out and not losing weight, it may be your diet that needs to change. You may need a ckeaner diet or you may need to eat more!
