Hey all, im not sure how many of you have any computer knowledge. But, would appreciate if anyone could possibly comment on my next build.

Because of many economic set backs my computer is continuesly being put on the "back burner". Although things are finally starting to get better so i might be able to get my parts soon enough!
anyway heres what im planning for my next build, let me know what yall think.

(BTW these prices change daily, usually no more then a total price of 50 bucks)

From my predictions i could play every game on the market right now (at a 1280/1024 or wide screen Equivalent res) at max. Then once i go sli i know i will be able to. I should be "future proofed" for a while . Crysis is going to be Own3d

Spend more to get a better HD.

I don't think a 600W PS will gain you much more, however, it's been a while since I built my last one. A lot of things have changed.

I think I'd aim for more memory.

Does the MB come with a built-in NIC?

Are you going to Newegg for your purchase? If so, read the reviews closely on the cases.

You should seriously consider going for a conroe (E6600), much better price/quality.

The motherboard you've chosen in your current configuration is really expensive, any particular reason you went with this one?

I seriously recommend you do not use sli.
-Higher power bill
-Extra Heat
-Extra source of noise
-Doesn't work with all games

The list goes on and on, that 8800GTS should keep you satisfied for about a year, maybe two. Just buy a newer $300 card when it no longer fulfills your needs.

Yeah, i am leaning towards the Conroe lately but i just can not find a MoBo that can compare to that of the Cross hair. The OC options, the Layout, the Reliable cooling system, Best option for SLI available. The reason it cost so much? because its the top of the line , and the only one that has all of the features i want.

Yeah their are some games that do not work well with it, but, the only major title that doesn't work well under SLI that i can think of is Half Life 2. And, in situations where i find it may not work well i can simply disable the second card ;
Not to mention i think the benefits outweigh the cons, Think of it this way, FEAR with just one GTS on the Res i want to play would give me about 45-50FPS doubling up will launch it up to 70-75FPS! lol. at least thats the figures i get from looking at reviews from single compared to doubles.
Games like the upcomming Crysis are actually going to be optimized for SLI

Yeah im looking forward to the 180! i plan to take the top fans out and replacing them with a higher CFM fan and adding the Gcard fan in that removable hard drive spot. Ill then hook them up to a Fan controller, the bottom fan ill leave and just set it to low on the fan.

I still think you're better off spending a little more and getting a 300-400 card and replacing it later on. Honestly who cares about 30 frames, only thing that's important is that you can run the game on high settings without any framedrops

Get some 55CFM 26dBa papst fans if you can, combined with a zalman fancontroller they're wonderfull.

No i haven't checked out BioShock, next time i go to my sisters (she has fast Internet) i will check it out.

Well actually being as the card i listed is the Second strongest on the market means there is only one "better"(8800GTX) and it starts at 500-600 bucks lol. These are the New Direct X10 Cards

Have you checked out Crysis? Its going to be the most graphically intense game Ever made. Take for instance when you walk through the jungle, each and every piece of grass or branch you walk against will move and bend to your character. Every single item in the game is destructible, you could actually tear down every tree on the entire island!

26DB damn thats must be low CFM fans lol, that Zalman fan controller is that the Blue one? can you shut the front door with that installed?

Lol why are you trying not to upgrade? for 150Bucks you can get a 7900GS which will bring your new rig a world of difference in terms of FrameRates! Then get another 7900GS when you get the cash and you will be able to max out Fear and other major titles!
