My 1st day of running today :p

Did my 1st day of running to. Going to try and run 3 times a week now for 20mins for the 1st month and build myself up as time goes by. Did 2 times around the block which took about 15 mins. It all went well apart from dropping my ipod and scraching the screen:p
Anyways I been doing some weight training as I want to join the army. I dont want to lose this weight I gained so will i lose any from running? If so is there anything that I can eat or take to stop this?

Congrats on getting out there and running. You might want to drive your car on the same route, and check the odometer to see how many miles (kilometers) your new path is.

You may lose weight from running, but it will be from fat, not muscle. Trust me, if there is one thing I know about the military (I'm still in the National Guard), it's that you want your endurance built up -- even if it's just to make Basic Training less difficult.

Good luck! Oh yeah, and about jogging: I've found a running partner, and I've found having a partner makes me stick to my routine, and it also pushes me to sprint faster, and to jog longer before slowing. So, if you think that could help you as well, I'd highly recommend finding a run-mate.
 
Get an MP3 or minidisc player. Music adds at least an extra mile!! A partner is almost essential in keeping a regular schedule. Also take before and after pictures. The best motivation to lose fat is to jump up and down naked in front of a mirror. :D
 
Hmm never thought of jumping up and down naked hahaha!! Take measurements!! I wish i woulda thought of that before i started working out b/c i havent lost much weight but i've lost alot of inches ...
