Sport Must...keep...going...

Sport Fitness
I can honestly say that I've gone over 9 months without a single cheat meal (or even a cheat food, for that matter). Not a single fast food meal, and only about 10 meals at restaurants (all of which were baked fish with only veggies). Not a single soda, Gatorade, or juice. Just water, Propel, and the occasional Crystal Light.

I read all the time that any diet should include an infrequent "cheat meal" to keep you sane. But if I can keep going without a cheat meal, that's ok right?

I ask this because for the last month I've been getting this insane craving for Taco Bell. If someone would assure me that cheat meals are not necessary, I think it would give me more motivation to say no to the Bell!

If you can do it more power to ya

When I get a craving to run south of the border I'll make my own low fat, nutritous versions using lean beef, no-fat cheese, beans etc.
Try it instead.

Ever hear of the white elephant? In a psychology study a long time ago they found that the more they suggested that a person not think about a white elephant, the more the person thought about it. What does that have to do with you? By totally depriving yourself, you're actually making the pull toward that thing all the harder. That doesn't mean you totally give in, pitch the diet, and eat Taco Bell whenever you have the whim. It means you have to find a way to deal with it in a healthy way.

I'd say that in general any diet you can't live with forever is a bad diet. That's why yo-yo dieting is such a problem for so many people. The trick is to find a diet that gives you the correct amount of calories and nutrients to keep you healthy, yet allows you to enjoy food. I eat a very healthy diet, but occasionally have a pop, some chocolate, whatever I want as long as it is on an infrequent basis. By infrequent I mean maybe a couple times a week.

I know this wasn't the answer you were asking for, but I hope it helps.

If you seriously have not had a cheat in 9 months i'd suggest you do as your thyroid can become somewhat dormant for the constant feeding of the same foods/macros.

Yeah, that's a good idea. What kind of tortillas do you use? I'm assuming whole-wheat or corn, but what brand do you like best?

ew i never liked cheat foods anyways unless i'm completely smashed and drunk and u get the munchies. They make me wanna **** them all outta my ass the moemtn i put them in my mouth. It still tastes good but I can feel the corporate bull**** going donw my pharynx so i **** it all out real quick

wow! well done underPAR!! im totally impresed! if you make your own taco bell subsitute it would still be healthy and therefore not cound as a cheat meal(just as a diff meal) keep up the great work!

^ agree. They help jump start your metabolism. If you havent cheated in 9 months, theres a good chance, your metabolism has "tuned" itself to your intake and isnt burning any more calories than you are taking in.

At least twice a month, its a good idea to have a cheat meal.

here read this.
