Sport Museli - Should i avoid it

Sport Fitness
I eat 4 bowls a day of this stuff (Alpen is the brand name). No matter what i eat , i always feel like a bowl of this, I know this it contains alot of fibre wich is important but am i eating too much, is this too much calories. What other snacks are good to avoid eating so much of this

well, everything in moderation...that's key.

I need nutrition facts on this muslei cereal. Fiber isn't like normal carb calories. Meaning, if it contains 30g of carbs, but 10g of fiber, you only net 20g of carbs. the 10g of fiber is nothing but healthy.

A few diets out there consider high fiber, low starch foods to be 'free foods'...eat as much as you want. stuff like celery, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, and wicked high fiber cereals like Fiber One.

4 bowls does sound excessive, but again, I'd need the nutrition facts to make a true judgement on it.

Google is a wonderful thing...here's the nutrition info on your cereal:
serving size - 55g (roughly 1/2 cup). Amount Per Serving: Calories - 200; Calories From Fat - 25; Total Fat - 3g, 5%; Saturated Fat - 0g, 0%; Cholesterol - 0g, 0%; Sodium - 30mg, 1%; Potassium - 250mg, 7%; Total Carbohydrate - 40g, 13%; Fiber - 4g, 16%; Sugar -7g; Protein - 7g

so 36g of carbs. 36x4= 144g of carbs or 576 calories. I'm surprised at how low the fiber content is for such a 'healthy' cereal. Kellog's Raisin Bran has 7g of fiber per 1 cup, fewer calories, and about the same sugar content.

I used to love 'Alpen' (the original one) when I lived in the UK, I can't get it in Australia :(
From what I remember it was quite sweet so you may benefit from cutting down to say two bowls instead of four.

I sprinkle a small bit of Granola on top of it to, just a small bit (but i use the sugar free alpen)

My bowls are pretty big to (i used to eat nearly 7 bowls a day - definitely not good)

Thanks to all of you for your help
