Muscles weigh more than fat?

I have always heard this, and actually, I weigh more on the scale than I really want to but I feel that parts of my body and firm and hard, not fat and jiggly………I don’t have a fat caliper handy.

Bottom line, how MUCH more does muscle weigh than fat? Double? Only slightly more?

The density of fat is about 0.9g/cm3, and the density of lean tissue is about 1.1g/cm3.. So about 22% more dense. In other words 1 cubic cm of fat would weigh 22% less than 1 cc of lean mass.
