Muscle Soreness

Hi All...I have quite been a regular at the powerhouse. But there is one problem i do not have the solution too. Muscle Soreness..Most of my weight training leads to muscle soreness the next day. Few questions and doubts

- do i need to skip working out the next day for the muscle to relax?
- people recommend drinking lime water/ lemon juice everytime you face muscle soreness
- does this really mean that you are working out better and the muscle soreness is just a sign of a good workout??
- any supplements/medicines to take to reduce the soreness or should one just naturally allow the muscle to heal?

Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is just a reaction to heavy training that your muscles are unused to. It's a result of inflammation in the muscles due to tissue damage and micro-tears. The body does eventually adapt to prevent the amount of muscle damage, but the damage is good anyway, as the repair of it will result in muscle growth.

As for skipping workouts, you should be taking a day off in between working out each muscle group anyway. Your muscles need the time to recover and repair, even if you're not sore.

I cannot think of any physiological reason why lemon or lime juice would help muscle soreness, though. And there aren't any supplements. Yes, you should just let it heal naturally.

You can also try incorporating BCAA's into your supplement lineup, they really help with preventing muscle loss AND muscle soreness....modern bcaa is one of my favorites (great flavor and great profile 8:1:1)

super thought...i think letting the muscle heal naturally is a great idea..but sometimes i cant bear the pain..its excruciating... :(

You could try using cramp911 for the soreness. It works really well for me :)
