Muscle on women...

Okay.. i had this question to ask you after someone said something to me a couple of days okay.

How much muscle should women have? and should it be noticiable?

Like at work last night.. i was helping the crew to clear up after the gig.. help put away the speakers etc from off the stage. Now im pretty confident in my lifting skills.. so without hesitating i walked over to this box to pick it up. Was just crouching down to get it when one of my work mates come's hurrying up to help. I looked at him and was like.. Hun.. i can do it. Picked it up with ease. He was like.. shocked that i could lift this box!

I don't know if it is just me over reacting.. or.. if it says something about women in society. lol I don't want to look weak.. but at the same time.. i don't want to be a muscle woman.

As much as you should

I say continue down this path. I really hate the pathetic, "I can't do it, would you help me..." I only got that attitude from the Navy, where they just started letting women on the warships, and a lot of them acted like that. There is was like 1 women for every 100 guys, and they got away with a lot. Made me sick.

Okay rant off. you just go and show all that muscle you want, I commend you for it. (But don't screw up your back, cause that sucks, let me tell ya)

the navy? wow.. i don't have the guts to go into something like that. My younger sister is wanting to join the army and im like.. no thanks.. rather go on tv. hehe

So you think women having some muslce isnt too bad? But what about having it so that it actually shows? So you look at a woman and go.. 'wow.. she's got muscle.' is that attractive?

Muscle

I don't think the body builders are attractive, They look more like men. There is a line, but a hard working women in itself is very attractive. I don't see a problem with a fit women showing some muscle, I just really don't think much of the extreme body building type.

opinions will vary of course, but I think there is nothing hotter than a woman who has a lot of lean, well toned muscle on her. Well, not a lot, because anything in extreme is bad, but toned muscle is a lot smaller than "beefy" muscle which really can get unattractive except in very small quantities. Things like yoga, pilates, tennis, and even stripping - speaking of which Carmen Electra has a series of Striparobic DVDs that look like a lot of fun to try - are good for building any lean muscle. Basically any kind of exercise except for weight lifting will build lots of lean muscle I think.

And also, just from the perspective of how women act/get treated, I much prefer someone willing to at least try to do it herself before asking for help, because I agree with Caddius; helpless women (helpless anyone) are just irritating, and make us all look bad.

I kinda think wen guys say "I wouldnt mind havin a body like that" when looking at a muscular woman, sorta shows that sumhow the 'feminin' (is that how its spelt?) side may perhaps be lacking?

I love my femininity... I tend to use it to my advantage aswell sometimes i must admit. But i do always try something first before asking for help.

I was just wondering if i should be working my muslce up thats all.. at the moment i feel like.. espeically in my arms that it could look like fat instead of muscle.. My arms are a little wide.

Anyone know any good excercises that could tone my arms?

hey there pinky - I have been lifting weights for almost two months now - and I love the way it makes me look!!! lifting weights will tone the muscles so that you have definition, and don't look quite so flabby - which will definately impress the guys! It also helps you burn more calories, up your metabolism and all of that good stuff...

As far as things to start with - you don't even need to go out and buy weights - if you just get some cans of soup and start doing bicep curls (arms at your side, bend at the elbow and curl up) and tricep extensions (arms above your head, either clasped or not, then bend at the elbow and lower) you will be working the two major muscle groups...

hey pinky...sumthin I luv doin is mirror boxing. Get sum good funky music pumping & do it until ya cant hold ya arms up..rest abit..then go at it again. Excellent cardio & givs ya a good excuse to chek out ur progress too...

I don't think bodybuilders look to bad outside of competitions, they dehydrate themselves for competitions to get the muscle definition to show more.

most woman have a hard time achieving hypertrophy without steriods even if they are lifting heavy weights.

size does not always = strength

In general, bodybuilders are more muscular than powerlifters, but powerlifters are stronger

My two pennies...

Personally, i like girls that can pick me up and throw me like a ragdoll, but, maybe that's just me...

All kidding aside, I think it's pretty common for guys to be attracted to women that are lean and strong, may even breed a little envy now and then. I remember a girl during after school practice that could leg press more than I could at the time, and thinking of her strength and muscular legs as nothing less than stimulating, if not a bit distracting from what i was supposed to be doing at the time :D .

Like they say, If You got it, flaunt it ;)

I gotta agree. I think women with some muscular definition is very sexy! And regardless of what the men might think, I love when I have strength in my body and that I have power legs. I just wish I liked how my thighs looked! lol! I'm actually thinking when I get this weight off, of going into body building. I dont' want to be terribly "ripped" or what not, but I really want to have some muscle definition and some more strength. Esp. my upper body. So I'm ALL for it!! :)
