MultiVitamin Help

I've been looking at multiV's for a while now and I got a little interested in them and am wondering what they are and the benefits they have to them.
Are they more for general health or could you take a certain type that would help you out in the gym as well?
What multivitamins would you recommand?

Vitamins are organic compunds required by the body in minute amounts, two groups of fat soluble and water soluble.

Usually if your diet is complete then you obtain all the vitamins needed although in particluar people there often one or two that are in deficient quantities. There are no benefits of consuming more than recommened so they arnt going to help you increase your performance such in the gym example.

Basically, the benefits of vitamins is the normal maintanance of whatever function they serve. Vitamins E for example prevents cell damage. Of course, there will be side effects if any are defecient, and most also incurr negative side effects if consumed in significant excess.

What would you reccomend, you mean brand?

i personally take Nature Made Multi Complete, but for me it's because I've been deficient in certain vitamins when i've gone for blood work, so i just take it to be safe and make sure i'm getting everything i need.

Yes by the recommendation I meant what brands. For what I eat, I eat fairly clean. I do not eat a lot of veges though just because I don't like the taste. Should I go and look for a veges type multi vitamin so I can get the vitamins I'm missing?

the brand name i like is Nature Made Multi Complete as i stated above. my hubby takes Vitaminshoppe Multi For Men. don't look too deeply into it because it'll drive you nuts...LOL! that's what happened to me. just read up on different ones and see which one you think you like the best. read the ingredients, some say they do add fruit/veggies into them. i mean i doubt it will replace the importance of eating them, but it will help.

There are many different types as well at my job people are always looking for one that suits them best. The best questions you should ask yourself to help with your decision are:

1. How many pills do I want to take a day (There are one daily ranging to 6, but you have to split them up)
2. Do I want one with iron or without (Some people have issues with iron intake in their bodies, depending on the person a large amount of iron can upset your stomach, they have gentle absorption multis for that as well)
3. Am I interested in a mutli that is especially for men/women or a general multi (some have extra added ingredients, say for men theres saw palmetto for prostate health or black cohosh for women 45+ to help with menopause)
4. Lastly, do I want a multi vitamin that is whole food based (Some have extra whole foods and veggies added, theyre not in super high amounts but its decent, but they tend to be a bit more pricey)

hey, i been using this multivitamin for a while and it is great.

go there and look under nutrilite. it has a vitamin for almost everything. From omega 3 to chewables. This is the best one for my opinion.

My problem is that most of the best veggies make me gag. It is not me being fussy or picky. I literally want to vomit when I taste them. Things like Peppers, Onions, lettuce, tomatoes are ok. Peas and carrots I can handle (though I do not have any love for them). But things like Broccoli or spinach make me feel ill. I currently attempt to eat what plant matter I can, drink a glass of V8 Fusion, and pop a "1 a Day" vitamin. Still never feel like it's enough.
