Mulit-Vitamins

I've been taking Multi-Vitamins for the first time and noticed my urine is LIME green or almost a GLOWING green... lol... Anyone know why this is or if this is normal when taking Multi-vitamins?

Just means your taking in more than enough Vitamin B

Urine can turn color after taking vitamins because the body has absorbed "possibly" excess B vitamins.

Concerning vitamins: the body absorbs what it can take in, and the excess is passed out in the urine. There is nothing wrong; your body is simply getting rid of extra vitamins it doesnt need. But usually the color is bright yellow (or a shade of it), and not green in color. It is possible (as I dont know your brand of vitamin you are taking, that it may have some type of color additive or other filler causing the discolored urine)

Green urine can also be caused by a number of "other" factors such as:

Certain foods
Asparagus - may turn urine green color with odor.
Certain medications
Artificial food coloring
Artificial coloring in medications

It can also mean a medical condition as well.

With this said, it also could mean you are deydrated, and not drinking enough water. Or a combination of your vitamins, foods, medications, or an unknown condition.

What type of vitamins do you take, and how much water do you drink?

Any medications? What is your diet history like?

Wish you the ultimate best in everything you attempt to achieve, and then more,

Chillen

My baddddddddd...

I meant Yellow, not Green. You guys are right and thanks for the feedback. Just wanted to make sure everything was normal. Thanks!

You did not mention what type of multi you are taking. I assume it is like a One A Day vitamin or something of the sort. These vitamins have a very low absorbtion rate and you are basically peeing it out before it can be assimilated. A new product has just come out and it is a vitamin supplement based on your DNA. Each person gets a custom engineered supplement based on his or her own DNA. Since I cant post my link here email me at cwdoty@yahoo.com and I can show you how to get them FREE. CRAIG

true story, i was so baffled by how lime my pee was once, so i turned off the lights and truely thought it was going to glow. one of my many proud moments.

I've actually done that, too ... it was such a bright yellow from the Vit B, I honestly thought it would glow in the dark. It didn't. I was actually somewhat disappointed ...

Well, I have to piss out "Rock-On's some how.

Or I would go nuts......

Thank you my kidney's......he, he.....

Best regards,

Odds are you are taking a garbage multi.

Try switching to 1 A Day for Men. No lime green, 100% (and no more) of what you need, and probably 10% of the cost.

There's been a lot of talk on your bodily "functions," lately, and frankly, I'm starting to get a little scared. (jk) Just watch where you aim your excreted "ROCK ONs." Preferrably in Focus's general direction.

HI i want to lose my weight i am 23 years old and my weight is 75kg. kindly give me suggestion which vitamins i should use and which i should avoid to use to achive my target?

It's because of vitamin B. Because body can absorb some percentage of vitamins excess vitamins came out from your body through urine so the change of color is due to excess percentage of vitamin B.

Liquid Multivitamin made with Nanotechnology

When I was taking a multivitamin pill my urine would come out green plus it was difficult for me to swallow but since I have been taking the liquid multivitamin Live The Source the absorption is 90%+ but my urine color comes out normal. it is made with all natural nanotechnology.

Nothing to be worry about, it's all because of access of vitaminB that you have taken, take liquid state of vitaminB,thanks.

Regarding Centrum or One-a-day's, multis come in one of three forms: synthetic, natural, and whole-food. A good way to differentiate is to learn to read labels. Synthetic multiples will have the vitamin C listed as ascorbic acid but will lack a boiflavanoid complex. Vitamin C should be ascorbic acid, but we cannot metabolize it properly without the presence of bioflavanoids, so make sure that somewhere on the label is a bioflavanoid complex. Reptiles and older orders of birds make ascorbic acid in their kidneys. Recent orders of birds and most mammals make ascorbic acid in their livers where the enzyme L-gulonolactone oxidase is required to convert glucose to ascorbic acid. Humans, guinea pigs, and some other primates are not able to make L-gulonolactone oxidase because of a genetic defect and are therefore unable to make ascorbic acid in their livers.
They will also have a synthetic vitamin E (dl-alpha tocopheryl). As a general rule, if your vitamin contains these, you can be certain it is synthetic (like Centrum). Natural multis will contain natural ingredients (thus, ascorbic acid and bioflavanoids and d-alpha tocopheryl). Another indication is that the raw materials used to produce either a natural or whole food multi can not be compressed into one pill. Usually a one-per-day formula is synthetic. While synthetic multis are really poorly absorbed (like twenty percent due to the rate of compression and lack of protein bonding), natural and whole food multis are much more readily assimilated by the body. Most of the chain store (Costco, Sam's, Wal Mart, etc) vits are synthetic and are not only poorly absorbed but also really bad for the body.
A whole food multi is one that was created from raw materials found in actual whole foods, not created in a chemist's lab somewhere. Studies have shown that synthetic vitamins contain- in addition to the actual vitamins- coal tars, artificial coloring, preservatives, starches, and sugars. Vitamins that come from whole food sources are protein-bonded, and are absorbed, utilized, and retained better than supplements that are not protein-bonded. Chemically derived vitamins are not protein-bonded, and thus are not absorbed well. That's where the bioavailability comes in- it has to do with how much of the actual nutrient you absorb. Basically, scientists have created synthetic vitamins that are cheap to make and are supposed to be identical to their whole-food counterparts. They are not. A study using polarized light showed that when the light is placed through whole food vitamins, the light beam bends to the right, due to its molecular rotation. When the same light passes through a synthetic vitamin, the beam splits in half. This proves 2 things- first, synthetic vitamins are not the same as whole food vits in their atomic structure, and second, researchers concluded that in a best case scenario, only 50% of the biological activity of the vitamin is available. (Vinson, JA., Bose P. "Comparative Bioavailabilty to Humans of Ascorbic Acid Alone or in Citrus Extract." American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1998, Vol 38, No 3, p. 601-604. AND Duke, James. Handbook of Chemical Constituants of Grasses, Herbs, and other Economical Plants. CRC Press, Boca Raton. 1992.) Add to that the fact that most synthetics are compressed at a rate of about 12,000 PSI's, and you're looking at maybe a 20% absorption rate.

do you know the side effects of multi vitamin ? excess of anything is not good .
