Much needed advice..!

Hey, I hope someone can give me a little advice as to what I should do next.

Basically, about 2 years ago I weighed about 260 pounds and decided I needed to lose weight. I had no idea at all about healthy eating or how to eat good while trying to lose weight. So I basically thought I should eat as little as possible, roughly 800 - 1100 calories a day, which is obviously stupidly low, considering im 6'3. Anyway, I ended up losing loads of weight, about 40 pounds in just a few months, I thought this was great, untill the inevitable happened, my weightloss gradually stopped.

Since then Ive put on about 10 pounds, and Im really wanting to lose those 10 pounds, with maybe another 10 on top of that. Ive tried eating at around 2000 - 2,500 calories, but the weight just wont come off. Ive been trying for about a month now, with bike riding 3 miles three times a week.

Have I perminantly messed up my metabolism?!

Hi Phil,

Reducing your food in take drastically wasn't the best thing you could have done! Your body went into starvation mode and is probably still trying to regulate itself.

Have you considered that the 'weight' you put on might be down to muscle formation? You haven't mentioned where the majority of the weight is? Is the weight distribution even; is it around your middle?

Am I right in thinking you want to reduce your weight to around 210lbs? Give me an example of what you eat.

This is similar to what I had done i ate a lot and weighed 210 in August 2007 and in July 2008 i started doing what you did and eat very little or eat one big meal a day for instance at 11-1PM and eat something small at night..Its now February 2009 and I weigh 160 pounds. But it only shows on the scale, I still think i look exactly the same as August 2007 though family and friends say I look like i lost a lot of weight..but I still think I look overweight because my cheeks look big..I was wondering would pure running or walking fast on the treadmill get rid of the fat on my face? You can look at my other thread to see the difference from before 2007 and today.

I have put weight on my face, but I think Its definatly more on my middle and legs.

I havent got a set target of how much I want to lose really, I dont want to be too thin, so Im aiming at around 20 pounds, but Il be happy with anything to be honest.

And food wise Im vegetarian, so I eat quite alot of vegetables, some fruit, tofu etc. I dont really eat that much junk food, infact, I dont think Ive had any for a while.

My average day will consist of a banana and toast at breakfast, a sandwich and more fruit at lunch, and in the evening another meal that mainly consists of vegetables, like a stir fry. But inbetween meals il eat fruit and other foods which will get me to around 2,500 calories.

Does anyone have any idea if its best to just wait it out at 2,500 calories in the hope my body will eventually decide to lose weight? Or should I adjust the amount of calories?

Thanks

Health is more important than losing weight. You should ensure the intake of basic daily nutrition. such as, at least one cup of milk a day, one egg a day, beans and soy products (like tofu, which you already had, is very healthy), vegetables and fruits.

Now that is a lot of brass air fittings there is just about every type

used some of the parts to make my babington wvo burner.
