Sport Mr T's low carb adventure...

Sport Fitness
Lissen up fooh's! Mr T wants to try sumpin new - low carb - and wants to know if anybody has had results (good or bad) while weight training. Should I drop a few lbs first? OR Should I incorporate it into my routine? Any suggestions? :cool3:

What are your goals?

You’ll find it easy to drop weight on a low carb diet but just make sure you still stick to common sense nutrition rules, like eating lean meats and not processed **** like sausages. I know it sounds blindingly obvious but so many people I know who have gone low-carb have turned into human dustbins and developed the idea that they can pile crap down their throats and stay healthy just because the scale is going down.

And keep of the Snickers;)

...but they're so satisfying!...I mean...lol

My goals are to drop from 220ish to under 200 (haven't seen that in years) and build strength while doing it. I've competed in several Strongman comps over the last few years so I find it really hard to lift anything more than 6 times...lol

You're a bit light for a stongman aren't you?

Luckily for me, it was a Strength competition and not a Size competition lol Actually, they were lighter weights (650lb tire, 200 lb farmer walk, monster truck pull, 250 atlas stones), but still...

Lol, but still, despite the crap some people come out with about being small but really powerful, the elite stongman are always up around the 240+ mark

I agree totally. Most of the successful strongmen (tv wise that is) are well over two fiddy but there are a few exceptions which elude me at the moment.... Now, back to muh low-carb issue lol Would it help or hinder muscle building?

I think timing is the most important thing; have you ever read up on Carb Cycling? Google that and have a read. If you have any questions you'd do well to ask someone on here like Chillen who has a lot of experience of building muscle while limiting carb intake

I have heard of people doing low carb because they could eat meals like hot dogs and butter and similar junk food. Perhaps that is why the Atkins diet was both so popular and so widely criticized (compared to other low carb diets) -- it was much less selective about what kinds of low carb foods were ok to eat than many other low carb diets.
