I will add to this post as I find good resources that help sort out how to get started making changes, maintaining changes, and starting again when your plans have been interrupted.

The first one is an ebook that you can download. It's written by Steve Troutman of Troutman Fitness. A lot of what he has written is very similar to the approach I usually take when people are just starting out (he just has a much better way of putting it into words!). I have long highly respected Steve Troutman. He used to post here regularly - and I will always credit him for talking me through a major roadblock which I encountered half way through my big project 13 years ago...
 
It’s always awesome when someone you’ve followed or learned from actually helps you through something big. Sounds like Steve made a lasting impact, and makes me more curious to check out the ebook now!
