Motivation that larger people can dance - and dance well

Many authorities say that weight control is easier if we become more active - and that one of the big problems today is that we have all become less active...

Dancing is a brilliant form of exercise - and one that many of us would benefit from considering. It is a great way of meeting people - and can be a social activity where you burn more calories than you consume... A great option compared to going out to a restaurant and puzzling over what to eat to do least harm to the food plan...

Lots of people can think that they are not at goal yet and would feel awkward about dancing. With this is mind - people should watch this clip:

Omega, I recently bought a Fitbit One and am now discovering just how sedentary I really am! I had no idea that I moved so little. It was well worth the money to see this...it is inspiring me to move more...not just formal exercise, but every day movement. I find myself taking the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator just to log in the stair climbing.

It is great that your Fitbit is working for you.

I swear by my pedometer which I wear for every step of the day.

I used to lead the most sedentary of lives - but know that we can all become much more active if we try... Distances can seem almost impossible one day - and become normal activity a few weeks later... We just need to push ourselves...

Margaret, thank you so much for posting that. I just shared it on Facebook. Watching that clip has made my day. When I was big, the only way I would dance in public, would be after consuming lots of champagne & then I would just go for it & have an absolute ball! I have always loved dancing & I am told that I am a really good dancer. I often dance at home, but still feel self-conscious. You have made me consider doing some lessons. Great clip Margaret! xo

Do the lessons Cate. I have found dancing to be a wonderful pastime which combines exercise with enjoyment and socialising. Too many people think that it is only for the young and thin which is far from the truth.

Anyone looking for further inspiration about big people dancing well... I've just seen a brilliant clip posted on FB... It is posted by Fatima Mambera on her page - and is well worth a look...

I hope that you can get to it and it isnt stuck in some "friends of friends" type of privacy thing...
