I would like to say HI to all the others out there in the same boat as me. I am currently 1 week into my healthy lifestyle and i am happy to report all is well. One week ago, I started a weight loss group with my best friend and some of our family members. I am proud to say we are all doing well. My personal goal is to lose 60lbs. Wow. But I know I can do it! Our group meets again tomorrow evening. Hum, I need to think of a healthy snack to bring. I guess sour cream and onion chips wont do the trick anymore. I'll have to banish those from my thoughts. So if anyone is interested, I'll post again after we meet. P.s. I cant wait to tell them about this website.

I just wanted to say that you are lucky to be surrounded by those that will encourage and help you along . There are days I dont feel like walking , there are days when I fail but I have learned that instead of using those times as a reason to throw in the towell I look at them as a misstep and I pick myself up and start again .

I would like a buddy but alas I am new to my community and it is very small and I live outside of even that by a few miles . Here is to you and to reaching your goals !!

glad your here! my alternative to those delicious chips i used to love to eat are sunchips! they are multi grained or whole grained ( i forget) and i still consider them "junk" food but they are less calories, non greasy, and i dont feel guilty eating them!

Tasty healthy snack

One of my favorite snacks is Hummas (Cedars is the best) and Soy crisps (Genisoy garlic flavor is the best) the soy crisps have 100 cal 7g protien and, I can't remember how much fiber, per serving. It's the perfect combination. Baby carrots are pretty good with the Hummas as well. :)

I tried the genisoy garlic and onion crisps and didn't care for them. I will have to try another flavor. The apple cinnamon are good, but that doesn't take away the craving for potato chips! Helps with the sweet tooth though.

I have the perfect solution to cravings for chips. Lays has a "light" chip out with 70 cal, 0 fat and a few gms fiber/protein I believe. I feel so sinful when I eat them because I swear they are the real thing and the diet industry is just tricking me into thinking they aren't going to make me gain 50 pounds. Here's another trick. A lot of diet gurus promote supplementing with psyllium husks (metamucil, citrucel,) pure fiber. I eat a half cup of fiber-one cereal for a whoping 14 grams of fiber! The psyllium husks only give u 3 gms and it tastes like hell. It might take some getting used to the fiber-one, but it's worth it for the fullness, and regularness you'll achieve by eating it. It has a light sugary taste and looks like chow mein noodles. Try it. Also, whole wheat pasta is awesome with 6 grams, and there's even bread out there with about 5 grams per slice. Hope this info helps.......
