Most damage ever done with 1 punch...?

Out of all combat sports, can anybody give me examples of the biggest hits ever landed? Ie. most damaging? :p

Our own or people who we have seen hit?

Iv had to give a police statement a few days ago because a man who got killed from one punch! i was outside the nightclub and it was all kicking off, and someone who i know K.O'd this lad. He was gone totally and he died 6 days later. Sad really.

Shows it can happen to anyone, it only takes one punch.

A punch to the chest (heart area) can easily be fatal.

Not sure if it was a punch to the heart area. But I once got hit in the chest really really hard, and it felt like my chest inclaved in and i couldn't breathe for the next 15 seconds. I tired to take huge gulps of breath and it was like none of it was going through my lungs. I'd rather get punched in the face than go through that again.

You may have been hit in the Celiac plexus(solar plexus). That'll knock the wind right out of you and make it real tough to breath. It is a key 'target' in a lot of martial arts training.:boxing_smiley: You get hit right and oh yeah, you feel like you'll never breathe again. It can be scary.

I meant in like boxing matches etc.

but man it is scary, I mean if you hit someone then they died :S
I took the point of a rugby ball in the solar plex. I couldnt breathe for about 15 seconds :(

Maybe Eubank Vs Watson back in the 90's. England had Eubank, Benn and Watson who dominated the middle weight class and in what would probably have been regarded as one of the greatest fights in history if there'd been an American involved, there was a terrible ending.

Eubank was losing the fight on points by a mile, he came out for the 12th in the knowledge he needed a knock out. He got it in true Rocky style, and although Watson didn't go down he later collapsed and fell into a coma.
He lived but is now more or less a vegetable

Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini knocked out South Korean fighter Duk Koo Kim who died of the resulting brain injuries 5 days later in 1982.

...just to put an even worse ending on the story, Kim's mother and the fight's referee both committed suicide within a year.
