Mixing Vitiamins, Protein

Hey guys,

First off, I'm new here so I'd like to say ello.

Now, I take vitamins everyday. I take Centrum Performance. Which most of you know, it's a Multivitamin/Multimineral. Its got A to Zinc vitamins.

I also have problems with my joints. I'm a basketball player and I'm 6'5. My hips, knees, and ankles all aren't the greatest. So, I'm prescribed to Meloxicam. A low dose however-only 15MGs.

Recently I bought Animal Pak FLEX. It's a joint support stack. It's got your common joint needs like glucosamine. Also, some flax seed oil and stuff like hyaluronic acid.

Will taking all of the vitamins together have and negative effects? I don't believe they will but I just want to make sure. You all know this stuff better then me.

I have also recently started taking ON's Gold Standard Whey Protein. I read up on it and it seems to be one of the best protein supplements out there. You all probably hear these question time and time again. But is there and certain way to take it for best results. Maybe, certain ingredients you can mix it with. I've just been taking it after any intense workout. Is there any cycle i should be on with it? Or and certain diet?

Thanks for all the help in advance guys. Really appreciated.:)

1. Centrum isn't that great. Any vitamin that's compressed into a hard packed pill isn't going to have great absorption. You might want to look at other brands that don't create the caplet in this manner. I personally like Source Natural's brand, Life Force multi without iron (I get PLENTY of iron in my diet).

2. I don't really trust Animal products. Their old 'animal pak' and 'stak' were very poorly designed pro-steroid/pro-hormone ****tails. That pretty much ruins my faith in all their stuff. Plus I think you'd find straight fish oil caps are cheaper and at least effective.

3. some vitamins and prescriptions do interfere. your prescription should come with a full disclosure of all that stuff, including foods to avoid, or if alcohol and MAOI drugs are problematic.
that said, some vitamins and minerals even block each other. Calcium blocks zinc absorption rates as one very common example (and why ZMA isn't necessarily a bad supplement for some people).

Thanks.

Those few you listed at for multivitamins, are those 1 pill? Or packs like the Animial paks?

What else do you recommend for joint health? I have really bad joints and would like to keep them as in best shape as possible.

fish oil caps for joint health (some new studies are showing the glucosamine/chondrotin aren't all they claim to be)
life force caps are actually 4 per day. Its one cap, 4 to a 'serving'. I never take more than 2 a day though, as a vitamin should be 'insurance'...not the sole way you get your US RDA's :)
