I guess I will start my journal by posting my current weight: 201.4 pounds and a copy of my current workout

Lower Back:
Hyper Extension 20 reps/no weights on this machine, there is none
Lower Back Machine 225 pounds

Thighs:
Hamstring Curl 85 pounds
Leg Press 340 pounds
Leg Extension 135 pounds
Squats 120 pounds

Inner/Outer Thighs:
Adductor 140 pounds
Abductor 115 pounds

Calves:
Horizontal Calf 270 pounds

Upper Back:
Pullover 100 pounds
Close Grip Pulldown 60 pounds
Row Machine 95 pounds
Back Pulldown 90 pounds

Chest:
Pec Dec 70 pounds
Chest Press 85 pounds
Pec Fly 90 pounds

Shoulders:
Rear Lateral 95 pounds
Side Lateral 40 pounds
Shoulder Press 65 pounds

Biceps:
Preacher Curl 85 pounds

Triceps:
Dip Machine 200 pounds

Abdominals:
Leg Ups 30 pounds
Ab Crunch 120 pounds

**I have to do that entire workout in 1/2 an hour
**I do this workout 5 days a week Mon-Fri and then also do a full hour on the elliptical crosstrainer
 
Wow...you can do all that in 1/2 an hour?

Congrats on the losing 60 pounds...that's gotta feel great!
 
Hey, it's a cirquit fat burn routine that I am on. I do one set of 20 on each machine...but you have to keep moving machine to machine, you don't get any rest periods in between, and YES I feel like I am dying! haha. Anyways, I have been conditioned to lift this much weight because I have been working with a personal trainer for the last 7 1/2 months or so.

I MADE IT OUT OF THE 200s TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so incredibly happy right now. I weighed in this morning at 198 pounds..I can't believe this. I never want to see the number 2 at the beginning of my weight ever again.
 
Venus, you are doing FABULOUS!!

You and I started about the same time and the same weight and you're a good 14 pounds ahead of me - you are doing great!

How tall are you? With your workout routine, what are you eating?
What was the impetus that got you moving?

I am 5'4"

I eat on average about 1800 calories a day.

Breakfast: 2 omega-3 eggs, 2 pieces whole grain toast, 1/2 banana, cup green tea

Snack: 1 turkey bite (like a pepperette), 1 cup yogurt, 10 mini rice cakes

Lunch: 4 cups romaine lettuce, 2 stalks cut up celery, 1/2 cup cut up carrots, vinegar for seasoning...a medium apple

Snack: an orange and a whey protein shake

Supper: 2 cups green beans, 2 cups broccolli, 1 chicken breast...cup of skim milk

Snack: 1 cup frozen yogurt, 10 mini rice cakes...or I sometimes have 2 stalks of celery with some low fat peanut butter and some low fat jello

I drink 8-12 glasses of water everyday...I take a multi-vitamin and some calcium pills

Um...as far as getting me moving, I was sick of hating the way I looked and not being able to do things I enjoyed or even walking the 3 flights to my apt was a task. My boyfriend really helped push me...and I have been working with a personal trainer for about 7 months.
 
Just got back from my workout today...did a hardcore ab weights routine and did my lower back. There were these 2 really buff guys in the room when I was doing my weights and they went on some of the machines after me...and had to put the weights down like 1/2 the weight!! HAHAHA!! Then they would put the weight down and look over at me like wtf? haha

I did an hour of cardio on the elliptical crosstrainer today too, I burned a total of around 1000 calories again today. There was some dumb girl on the elliptical beside me and only had her resistance at 5...who was stomping around on the machine going so fast she sounded like a herd of elephants. I thought the machine was going to break. I was thinking "if you have to work THAT hard to get your heart rate up...why not put up your resistance?"...needless to say I was getting annoyed by her thumping around. I usually put my resistance at 30 or 40 and can have my heart rate around 140-145...so what's her problem??

My boyfriend has Thursdays and Fridays off, so I get to spend some time with him now. We watched a movie when he came home from work last night called "Fallen"...it was an alright movie, kind of weird I guess.

I took my measurements just for kicks today...and I have lost a total of 8.55 inches since the last time I had measurements taken 3 months ago...the biggest changes being in my chest (lost 1.5")...my waist (lost 1.5")...my hips (lost 2.25"!!!!!!) and lost an inch on both calves. I am also 24 pounds lighter than I was 3 months ago. I would like to get down another 5 pounds or so before my Fit Test at the gym (which is the end of August)...I want to really impress them
 
Holy smokes you're pushing yourself hard, and it's obviously working!! I wish I could afford a personal trainer at my gym, its like $100/3 sessions - no thanks! Maybe I'll just steal your routine though and try doing it myself next time I'm at the gym. My gym partner is my fiance, Josh, but he totally hates weight training so I usually have to find extra time to go by myself if I want to do anything but cardio. Which I guess works fine since its hard to hold a conversation while lifting weights (if you're doing them right, that is!).

Go for it!!

Although, if you are not used to lifting weights or don't regularily lift heavy amounts of weight. I would suggest starting at MUCH lower weights. Keep in mind I have build up to this amount over the last 7 1/2 months. I started out much lighter than this. Be careful and don't hurt yourself.
 
Got on the scale this morning and was 196.8 pounds!!!. I seriously never thought I could lose this much weight, but I am so happy. I am trying to schedule some more appointments with my trainer for over the next couple weeks so that will help a lot.

I did a hard ab weight workout today as well as my lower back. I also did an hour on the elliptical and ended up burning over 1000 calories in total today.
