I read somewhere that it is vital to get as close to you chosen amount of calories as you can. Is this always true?

this morning I didn't get up in time for breakfast so Do I skip my calorie intake for breakfast or do I make it up in snacks, lunch, and supper?

Also should I be trying to average my calorie intake in the meals? I'm not big into eating snacks while at work so I'm really just eating the three meals a day with no snack.

so what i was told on a nutrition guide is my intake should be right around 2100 cals a day coming out to 700 per meal? or shouldn't I look at it this way?

thanks for the help

I'd say missing the odd meal is not bad but do it every day and you send your body mixed signals, you could find that you have to keep your diet that bit lower as a result. But like I say, once in a while is not going to ruin everything!

Contrary to popular belief, "breakfast" does not have to take place at a certain time...it is the first meal you have in a day, within an hour or so of waking up. So if you sleep in, just eat within an hour of waking, and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't sweat it. Pick a calorie intake that suits your goals. Get as close to that total each day spreading out across as many meals/snacks as you see fit for you, personally.

And keep in mind that the foods/nutrients that comprise those calories is also very important.

They say you should try to eat breakfast to get your body going in the morning especially when you are trying to lose weight.
