Sport Misrepresentation in the media about pwo food

Sport Fitness
I was just watching the Today show, and some **** head was on from Men's Journal with advice on what to eat post workout. First off, he said to rehydrate that you should not drink water as you need to get electrolytes and recommended gatorade. No big deal there. But then he goes on to say that beer is an adequate substitute for gatorade to replace electrolytes!!! Then he was discussing the need to get a high glycemic index carb into your body. Again, no problem, until he recommended that someone can use sour patch kids to get their sugar post workout. Next, he said you need to get salt PWO. He recommended eating a handful of pringles. Then he said that you have to get fat PWO. First, this was blatantly wrong, but the way to get the fat was even more outrageous. He recommended a brownie wrapped in bacon!!! Finally, for protein, he recommended eating a bag of beef jerky instead of a protein bar.

Now, I understand that most of the theories behind the need for the pwo food are correct (besides getting fat). But this show is going to lead to alot of people eating crap after workout. Now there will be questions on here like: "I've been eating my brownie wrapped in bacon, along with a 6-pack of bud, a can of pringles, 6 slim jims, and a bag of skittles post workout and I'm still not losing weight or gaining muscle, please help!!!"

Anyway, I've always known that the media puts a spin and misrepresents political situations, but to misrepresent nutrition in such a way really seems absurd.

omg that's just absurd

sure sounds like it would be a joke haha, because I have never heard of anyone recommending beer to anyone especially for health related issues and would anyone even think of wrapping a brownie in bacon just think of how disgusting that is haha

ok well here is the article about it, I didnt read it because I am on the way out but im sure someone here will :)
