Minnesota...Dreadful Cold.

It's only August and I am already anticipating the dreadfully cold and snowy winters that are Minnesota. I hate it. Grew up here, and have lived here forever. I went to Iraq for a year, over that time I missed a winter. That was the best 2 years of my life, no cold weather. Not to worry though, I'll move someday, I like the other seasons here!

Anyways, does anyone else live in Minnesota?

I live in northern Illinois and hate it.

I love winter. So much to do. Take the kids sledding, ice fishing, snowmobiling etc. I wouldn't live any place where the lakes didn't freeze over. I actually think I get outdoors more once it turns cold. :)

Here in Florida, it's too d--n hot in the summer, not to mention there are too many hurricanes. Minnesota is too d--n cold. California is too d--n crowded. Guam is too d--n remote. There is no perfect place because if there were, 6 billion people would live there.

No, i live in Brisbane and our winter is coming to an end. It never snows here but i consider anything 15 degrees to be cold...It usually gets below 5 in the middle of the night...rarely goes below zero...

Winter is cool.

I don't need a sled to go sledding.

I just use my abs as the sledding device. :hug2::)

Best wishes

You haven't experienced crappie action at its finest until you're on the ice with a lantern and pressure cracks going off all around you. LOL

I live in central WI, and am dreading this winter very much. It is August, it only hit 75 degrees here yesterday, and while it's supposed to be warm today, the next few days are already dripping below 80...kinda early.

I can feel my body biologically trying to prepare for winter--I am much hungrier and the bod wants to pack on some winter poundage!

Yeah, I didn't mean I hated it here cause of the winter. I just meant I hate the midwest here in general :D

Aside from the crap economy I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Now you guys got me all excited for the cold and trekking across ice covered lakes. LOL

That was the transistion time when the ice is no longer safe. Thats the time of year I dislike most. Late March, early April

I'm from Minnesota. I enjoy the changes in season, although the dead of winter can get a little bit cold. 90's during the summer, 20 below during the winter and everything in between. Places like San Diego that are always around 60-75 degrees sound nice, but I think they would get boring.

Being the super Canadian that I am and all...I am used to dreadfully cold winters.

Sooooooooo much to do in the winter.

Things like:

-Going downhill in an expert lane of a sky resort in the hopes of coming head on with a small plant instead of a huge colossal tree.
-Skiing behind a ski-do in a wide open field where you don't know where the ditches are with a female as your driver.
-Skidding in the ditch with your car and paying a deductible.
-Watching your dog run like crazy towards you and when he finally arrives you stand aside and watch as he goes into reverse and face plants in the garage.
-Getting dragged by a skidoo because your hands are caught in the cable and the skidoo driver isn't paying attention.
-Hailstorms.
-Getting your tongue frozen against the fire hydrant.
-Building up BF% in order to compensate for the cold via a layer of blubbery fat.

I mean, come on, winter is fun.

:D

don't be a hata! I actually lose more in the winter

I lived for 6 years 10 miles from the Canadian border in NY. I hated it. Now I'm 2 1/2 hours from the Canadian border in NY and its probably 15 degrees warmer every day but I'd rather be somewhere else.

I actually don't mind the winters in WI. Last winter, though, we were all pretty much snowed in around Green Bay for a long time. The only thing that gets me in the winter are the drivers: the people who drive too fast to make any kind of traction, or the people who are too safe, and drive about 5 mph on the highway.

also, my car doesn't defrost for s**t.

Sounds much like upstate NY. I am not a fan of here. I do not know why I am still here. I need to move. I like St. Martin ... it is good. Enough said.
