Sport Milk?

2 questions

1. For a person trying to lose weight is it okay to drink homo milk or u have to drink like 1%. and is chocolate milk okay?

2. Is it true that drinking milk at night bad for you. I heard that drinking milk at night can eventually burn a hole in your stomach due to acids? forget wat they called.

I drink milk in my shakes and in my porridge. Always skimmed, no idea what the fat % is but, I suspect pretty low and I have no problems losing weight. Chocolate milk will contain a lot of sugar so, I would steer clear personally.

Never heard of 'homo milk' - sounds a bit dodgy to me!!

I think he means whole milk, and you should prob lean towards skim milk if you're dieting.. And no choc milk since you're looking to lose weight.. Milk before bed is great..

Are you certain milk before bed is a great mreik?
1 cup of whole milk is around 12 grams of carbs. Consuming carbs before bed and then not using them is just asking for fat storage.

Here is a fantastic alternative if you like milk.

Mootopia milk:
Pro: 14g
Carb: 4g
Fat 0g
Sugars: 4g
40% calcium
25% Vit D
No Lactose

while it does cost more than regular old milk, its much better for you.

I said skim milk, so its around 8.. so 2 cups of milk to avoid going into a catabolic state for too long is well worth the 16 carbs.

This is considering, like you said, if the liver or muscles can't use the carbohydrates. However, 12 grams of carbs is very little.

Mootopia milk is alright but cottage cheese is teh win when it comes to pre-bed stuff.

Damn straight :)
I was using mootopia as a better alternative than regular milk.

My last meal of the day consists of cottage cheese, whey protein and Udo's.

milk before bed makes more sense than those nightime anti-catabolic protein formulas are whatever they're called. if you're short on your carbs for the day you can have them before bed.

question about milk:
Everyone knows how healthy it is to drink tons of water.. but is it the same if i drink tons of milk? or does it have to be pure water? i was wondering, cuz since milk has more carbs, proteins and other stuff, could it be better to drink tons of milk instead of tons of water? and im not looking to loose weight, rather gain some weight and muscles.

This is a really interesting way of thinking. Could you describe how that works? The way I see it, the body uses carbohydrates for energy, some of what you do not use is stored in your body. If your body does not have enough carbs during the day how would loading up on them before bed help you out?

i guess he means to build muscle. to build muscle you need lots of carbs, and if you dont get enough during the day, then get some before you go to bed.. but im not sure :S

if someone cant eat right during the day to where they have to "load up" on carbs before bed, they're doing things incorrectly to begin with.

read up on alan aragon, one of them most respected ppl in this industry.

any liquid, even coffee and soda, has hydrating properties. however I would still count them, and milk as 'in addition to...' the recommended 8-10 glasses (approx 1gallon) of water a day.

Arnold Schwarzeneggar used to drink quarts of milk as his post workout nutrition.

Using milk in your whey shakes would be a good way to increase calories for bulking, rather than turning to a 'weight gainer' powder that simply has added maltodextrin (sugar) to provide calories. At least the milk gives you vitamins and minerals (calcium rulez)

Don't forget about bovine growth hormones.. MMMMmmm yum! :D
Also keep in mind that just because those vitamins and minerals are present in the milk doesnt mean our bodies can break it down and use it. The phosphorous in milk make a lot of the minerals undigestable.
Sorry to sound like a fear monger, but along with the few benefits milk has to offer, there are plenty of negative things as well. Sucks, I used to drink 2 litres of milk every day.

Phosphorous along with calcium...
