Military style workout?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew about a good military type fitness workout. The reason for this is because, a) I'm interested in joining the army and b) the military has some of the fittest people around and well I think it's true to say everyone wants to get that bit fitter.

So cardio or muscle building/ conditioning workouts would be good.

Any responses would be great,
Thanks

I was a grunt in the Marine Corps. Do lots of bodyweight exercises. The military thrives on bodyweight exercises.

Ive been in the military for 6 years and the best thing i have found is that you follow the military workout for example mon wed and fri are cardio days, Where one day is fast paced short distance and the next is distance and endurance. Then tue thur and saturdays you should do upper body and abs push up,sit ups.. And anything you can put in such as weight lifting at the gym or just staying active will def. Help you in the end.

Its probably worth checking out your local gym / leisure centre as I know round our way there are a few military workout groups that practise in local parks. they would either be organised by a local club, or if not, they'd certainly know about it. Good on you though, I usually wimp out and do Pilates classes thinking they'll make me fitter haha!
