Sport Meat

I am addicted to meat and was wondering how bad it is for me. Up until age 18 (I am 25 now) I always enjoyed vegetibles more and only ate meat about twice a week. Now I am consuming it for all three meals a day. Each morning I will literally hamburgers, steaks, chicken and whatnot just for breakfast. Lunch and dinner is the same but I end up eating much more.

Luckily, I don't gain weight (or a gut) but I am still curious if it is hurting me in the long term.

do some reading on the forums.

you'll find that you should be eating 5-6 times a day, not just three, and that every meal should contain protein (for example: beef, fish, chicken, eggs, cottage cheese)

hamburgers aren't exactly great, as they are 'leftovers' and somewhat fatty. stick to the leanest grd beef you can get...93% lean
chicken breast is ideal, turkey breast, fish, and lean steak all good.

too much fatty beef yields too much saturated fat...high blood pressure, heart disease, etc.

i have 2 serves of red meat, 2 serves of chicken, 1 serve of fish and maybe another chicken serve each day...i can't class it as a meal without protein as i would be hungry 10mins later...if you stick to lean sources you should be alright although they cost more...if you're that worried just get quarterly cholestrol tests or so to stay on top of it

What are you eating for meat? Whether or not it's bad for you depends on the type. There are so many good, healthy meats: chicken and turkey breasts, fish, extra extra lean beef, ostrich, and so on. Great source of protein. Processed meats and high fat meats are not good for your healthy. Processed meats have so much sodium and preservatives. High fat meats like a lot of beef and ham are full of saturated fat that can wreck havoc on your health.
